I’m about to start this game for the first time. What should I know?

Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster.

  2. skrott404

There are way more xp than levels. Don’t stress with grinding gigs or NCPD Scanner Hustles. The game gets less interesting if you end up on max level and still have tons of story missions and side quests.

  3. Evocati585

Same. Just waiting on download now. Never touched before… so weaponised dildo emotional rollercoaster. Got it.

  4. Accomplished-Emu5363

NOTHING! Go in like a curious kid who knows nothing about the world. It’s gonna be amazing

  5. Known-Independent-42

Stealth starts shitty, gets OP later on.
Katana build + Sandevistan is fun AF.
    Don’t always trust Johnny.

  6. Are you mentally stable enough to deal with the consequences? – just joking, enjoy it and play it the way you want.

Therefore my only advice is: ignore all the “must do that” or “must have build” posts.

life paths only have a miniscule effect on your gameplay and the story

  8. CoolHandRK1

A simple thing that I did not know on my first playthrough. There is no stealing in Night City. Anything you find anywhere you can take with no implications.

  9. WSKYLANDERS-boh

As first active cyberware take the double jump, it helps a lot exploring

  10. SourArmoredHero

When a certain character asks you to smoke a cigarette for them – do not do it. The smoke will bug out and be permanently attached to your hand.

  11. Main quest is quite short, may be you’d want to complete side charatcers quests before. And get double jump sooner. At first it’s fun, 2nd you’ll need it T_T

And OP it’s not fo you xD but >!I wanted to play immersively and didn’t want to crawl around in a burning building looking for a way to save Takemura. I didn’t have leg implants at that moment too =(!<

  12. Leo_VillaZ

Don´t rush the Takemura´s quest!! Do the Gigs… and don´t waste your money buying cars!!

  13. im_bad_at_name

Kill everyone, do not spare a single soul

  14. You will cry, at all endings and even random quests. NC is a sad place. Really just reminds you about the brutality that actually goes on in real life, almost cried at a quest that was worth about 10-15 minutes, they didn’t have to do that character like that

  15. MegasVN69

Just fucked up as bad as possible so you can have a better time replaying

  16. scaruruu

Don’t speedrun main story. You don’t have to leave it for last, just make sure you have gear you like before hitting it. Well at least after the heist that is.

  17. S0n1cS1n

Just play the game… then fuck around and find out

I just started this past weekend. Fair warning if you have ADHD, this game will stim hyper focus like a mf 😩 it’s sooooo good and I’m mad at myself for sleeping on it this long

  19. Garlic-Rough

    Enjoy 😌

But you might want to read through stats carefully to know how to maximize your gameplay. And details are important

  20. -elemental

You should know that it’s right now full of bugs that will potentially ruin your save files.

  21. quirty890

Read the shards you come across. They flesh out and contextualize the world and most are connected to the missions you do.

  22. French____

Why do people make these posts? Just go in blind and discover the game and world for yourself, way more fun and spontaneous that way

  23. DaDawkturr

Pistols are the meta. Everything else is secondary.

  24. RedDonkulouso

Don’t kill the ripper doc in one of the missions. Can’t make my ultimate Cyberpunk anime sandevistine build now smh

  25. Substantial_Gur_9273

Don’t worry about guides – use whatever build is most fun (sandevistan and netrunner builds are two great choices.

Make whatever decisions you want to make – often the difference is an iconic weapon, but you can buy them later in the DLC if you miss em.

For cyberware, I’d really recommend getting the double jump legs quickly. They make exploring and running around much more fun.

Do all the side quests and gigs you want – after the hotel heist you’ll have everything open up, don’t be in a rush to complete the main story.

This game never clicked with me until after the prologue which is like 6 – 8 hours long. So I’d suggest that you try at least finishing the prologue until you judge it. Also, the first time I played I didn’t understand what the hell was going on half the time, a lot of what the characters were saying just sounded like word salad to me, but eventually you get used to the terms and language and it all makes perfect sense later.

Edit: Also, corpo is the best lifepath. Trust me.

  27. blackandwhitemight

When you get several hours into the game, you will be talking to a guy and one of the dialogue options will be “ fucked in the head worse than me”. do not pick that, or your game will glitch out forever. Unless you load a previous save that usually fixes it. It is supposed to be patched soon, however.

  28. Sir_LongButt_McFugly

Pick up every gun you find and sell them at dropboxes and you’ll be filthy rich in no time

  29. Ohmstheory

Boobs. Lots of boobs. So dont play this in front of your parents 😂

  30. DeepJudgment

A question for you first. Would you rather live in peace as Mr. Nobody, die ripe, old and smelling slightly of urine? Or go down for all times in a glaze of glory, smelling near like posies, without seeing your thirtieth?

  31. Melchiah_III

Play it on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X – not on PS4/Xbox1. Get the Phantom Liberty expansion. Enjoy!
