I did mine too. Was gonna get that but figured I would try using dental floss first. It was pretty easy to get it between the legs and break the glue. To melt the TIM I just put a dab of thermal paste on the heat spreader and warmed up a clothes iron, upside down. I put the CPU on it for about 20 to 30 seconds gently lifting with tongs every few seconds to get it off as soon as it got soft. Came right off. It was really easy, but absolutely understand if this process makes you uncomfortable. I just started out to see how easy it would be and figured the second I ran into some difficulty I would quit, but I never did.
