Probably 4k and I don’t think it’ll move past that for a long time.

Been on 4k since 2018, both on PC and TV. They always have to have the same resolution.

It’ll top out at 4k. We really just need the hardware to perform at that resolution.
Going past 4k is pointless for almost all applications.
You may have niche uses for 8k like VR or large screens that you can get close to like in a museum but it’s not going to be useful for the average monitor or TV screen.

1440p is currently a sweet spot for many when looking for a new pc build.
Next one will surely be 4K in ~5 years.
After that, it’s hard to say because there are opposing forces at play:
– Above 4K, we are getting further into the diminishing return curve.
– Image reconstruction technologies are here to stay and will most likely continue to improve.
– Monitor sizes will most probably increase.
That means that it’s hard to say if we’re gonna go straight to 8K after 4K or if we will rather want to go for intermediary steps such as 5K.

I’ll always have my lightning fast 144hz 1440p TN Monitor for those rare multiplayer games, but 1440p is the endgame res.

Aren’t the ultrawide the current prefered resolutions?
Idk since I’m still using 1080 monitors but using my Index most for gaming.

1440 is by far the best until we have the hardware for 4k at high fps but if you have a good gpu 1440 is king. Crispy picture compared to shitty 1080, high frames even on ultra with ray tracing. It’s just the best don’t @ me 😉

Hey 1280×1024 was the real deal back in my days.

Why would anybody prefer 2560×1440 over 3440×1440?

1440 is not even close to the popularity of 1080p
It is still the king of the world
1440 p, what kind of question is that?
It’s one of the most popular NOW.
