In the original story it’s written that back in 2023 johnny’s guns couldn’t even put a scratch on Smasher’s armor, which is ironic considering that V can destroy an upgraded Smasher with the same gun.

Video game physics and the physics of the original Tabletop game are wildly different creatures. The tabletop more closely mirrors reality.

V just build different

That would be because shitty game design. in game Smasher can be beat with fists despite him being a walking tank that can withstand armor pericings ammunition with nothing more than afew scratches on his armor.

well Johnny did not have 2.0 update

It’s a game

I mean, let’s be honest, what we got in the game is not a lore-friendly Adam Smasher. He should’ve absolutely brutalized us, but instead he’s a simple pushover, barely even a challenge.

Smasher in the tabletop used a Dai-Oni exo to tear Johnny a new one. It’s basically E-D 209 on HGH. In-game smasher uses a highly modified dragoon exo, which is much less armoured.
Dishbringer
I really want armor mechanics in world of tanks in this game.

Fun fact in the ttrpg smasher was an enemy designed specifically to wipe the party, he was not meant to be killed (not to say he cant be unlike that one vampire the masquerade character)

I like to imagine this is like the classic league of legends meme. “He’s too tanky”. In reality he just misses every shot.

I think the best way to explain how V defeated Adam Smasher is the fact that Johnny’s memory of how he was back then showcased him to be a cyber demigod. This in turn seems to me what made V this overpowered, Johnny’s made up personality and memories that was instead refabricated in the unrealistic power fantasy way he remembered rubbed off of V during their whole time together, becoming as one. This in of itself explains V’s growth to be able to take down Adam Smasher and become nearly unbeatable within such a short time period was plausible, and perhaps helps somewhat explain the conundrum that is Johnny’s gun being able to even scrape Smasher’s armor. Maybe I’m wrong though as I’m still playing through the game and only know these dets because of spoilers around release

V’s just built different

Also, Johnny is a rockerboy while V is a professional mercenary. Johnny managed to hit Smasher. V manages to hit the weak spots

Should’ve gone for the head.
