It’s normal especially on those types of cables. Just clean it ones every few months.
JesusWTFop
dust that pc out. Jesus wtf op
Shaner9er1337
Yeah those types of cables hold static and dust just clings to them.
IndependentCan1050
A full year without cleaning your PC? Yeah. Mine looks like that within 3 months.
off-a-cough
It helps if your case has screens in front of the fans, but this is otherwise very normal. Your PC is effectively a dry air filter using static to capture dust.
The amount of air moved through a PC over the course of a day – particularly if gaming and creating heat which kicks the fans up – is pretty substantial.
Questitron_3000
If you don’t have filter screens on intake fans, don’t dust your PC regularly, and don’t vacuum your living space regularly, this is inevitable.
Regular dusting/vacuuming, not only of your PC but also the surrounding living space will keep dust accumulation to a minimum.
Most dust consists of human hair, skin, and clothing fibers. So while you don’t have pets, and no one smokes, dust will still accumulate on surfaces and in carpet.

I build my own custom HEPA filters for my workstations’ intake. Constructing the filters is less effort than dusting it out every week.
Gamingmarxist
That’s definitely above average
Revan7even
I dust every two months since my PC is on top of my desk and not on the floor, even though my cats sleep on it because it’s warm.
binary-gemini
it’s your room
remember, the fans pull in the air in your room to cool the pc inside
any dust particles will most likely get stuck inside rather than blown back out
FratricideV2
do you smoke or vape around your PC?

If you don’t clean your damn house it is. Vacuum those floors

No
Ariserix
Really depends on location, and if the case has dust covers or not, it’s not a terrible amount, but she definitely deserves a deep clean haha
TheProblematicG3nius
Hey, you know how you have to clean your house every once in a while to promote a healthy life. Yeah same thing.
Pancake0341
A whole year…? Do you leave your carpet or room for a year without cleaning?
thatfordboy429
If you haven’t cleaned it in that yeat, that is nothing.
Obviously ypu want to clean it. But how often ypu need to depends on environment. My PC will look like this after 2 weeks. Though actual dirt dust.
Xenoscope
You can buy ready made air filters that go in front of your fans, or jerry rig some out of a set of pantyhose for very little money. Much easier to clean than the whole inside of your PC.
deadmemes2017
Yall dust your pc’s?
WhiteHawk77
What’s your fans airflow setup?
MclaurinPCBuilds
My apartment is full of dust but I NEVER have to dust my PC. Gotta make sure you are only pulling air from filtered intakes and have positive pressure inside the case.
Fabulous-Injury-7421
A year.
ssddsquare
No, it’s not normal. Clearly, the computer is faulty. Return it.
ChainsawSaint
That’s all?
Gt-poison
That amount of dust is normal and shouldn’t cause any problems, but you definitely live in a dusty ass house if that’s what it looks like after a year.
just-_-just
If you set up your fans so that more air is entered into the case than is exhausted you’ll have positive pressure which means that dust can’t find it’s way in because even the cracks are blowing air away. It’s a very effective way of not having to clean your PC super often and many people here make it a practice.

After a year… That’s it?

I mean if you only clean your computer once a year then yeah that’s pretty normal build up

Not I’m my experience. I went about a year between cleanings once and my dusk was nowhere near this bad. That bring said though I’ve seen much worse
Relevant_Scallion_38
I sometimes go 3+yrs withouth dusting and it NEVER gets that bad (though thats not too terrible dust). I have heard that dust accumulates faster with negative pressure cases.
The only time I have ever seen a lot of dust in case is from my roommates PC. He had the top 3x120mm and 1x80mm fans as exhaust. With 2x12mm in the front as the only intakes for the case. The bottom of the case had holes for ventilation. His case was full of dust but slightly less than yours. We assume that the negative pressure was forcing dust up the bottom of the case and any cracks and crevices in the case. All we did was buy a magnetic mess filter and slapped it on the bottom of the case, It stopped pretty much all dust from getting in at least for the next 6 months it looked practically spotless inside.
