What do you think. I’ve done the Evelyn quest line, Dogtown completely, Panama Upton Sol kidnapping and a few of the one off quests.
Has you can see I still have loads of side content left as well as story missions but I’m nearly maxed out. Also I only have about 4 Cyberwares to level up 5++.
Absolutely loving everything but when I zoom out the map I see there will be a lot of missions/content with no growth reward.

I don’t think that’s such a bad thing. Gives you plenty of time to enjoy the content and not worry about being underleveled or in a WIP part of your build.
Yeah, agreed. I’m just finishing my first playthrough now. I did everything in the first area of the map and a few quests in other areas, then did phantom liberty. I was level 58 by the end of it lol. Im pretty sure I still have 3 zones full of quests and other side content. Knowing my character’s progression is almost over is def going to impact whether or not I do all the side content, as enjoyable as it is
I agree. I hit max last night and I won’t lie it killed a little bit of my momentum to do all there is to do.
Still really enjoyed the game, and will continue to enjoy it. But knowing I’ve essentially hit the cap on power well before I reach endgame is a little bit of a downer.
I get it, but at the same time I love being a powerhouse for so much time. If my build is complete and I’m fully chromed out, nothing can stop me and I want the whole damn city to know it.
As someone who has limited gaming time, I’m glad the leveling is fast. I want to see a fully actualized build and I don’t have time to grind out gigs.
I feel like the original intention was to lend availability to multiple playthroughs to feel varied and unique with plenty of side content to experience fluently without feeling unnaturally encountered.
It works well with the perceived urgency of the story as well. I feel like with a limited diagnosis V gets, they’re probably not walking aimlessly around town looking for odd jobs, it’s strictly business at hand. It’s nice to wander and encounter things, but I feel like full completion wasn’t the intended idea of a playthrough.
It’s pretty fast for sure, especially if you take your time to explore and do side stuff. But! If you’re playing on hard/very hard, it feels just right.
It’s way better than most RPGs that force you into grinding by locking certain quests behind character levels.
I love that you stuff have so much stuff to do with your finished endgame build, a lot of games are almost over when you finish building your character
I want to level faster.
On one hand, losing a motivation for character progression is kinda weak, on the other, it’s very nice to be able to use and abuse our full power against a ton of top level enemies for an extended period of time.
It always sucks when you get the peak abilities and weapons only to have nothing valuable to fight against. Terraria is a good example of this. You get the most powerful sword in the game after the final boss and for how awesome it is… there’s nothing to fight with it besides just farming the final boss over and over again.
So at the end, I prefer it this way versus the opposite.
I have to say I kinda ruined it for myself
I was too excited to try out a new sandy buiild
I’m level 40 with 50 street cred farmed evert Regina’s and Wakako’s gig like crazy , just finished the first mission with Panam and about to do the “Oh no something happened to Evelyn” mission
Game is still hard, I’m the definition of a glass canon since everything went into damage + edgerunner perk I have like 200 health
But like, apogee + axolotl + Byakko? Yeah I might die in like 2 hits but that doesn’t matter if every enemy in sight dies in the equivalent of 2 seconds
I had to put Byakko aside and go with Errata cuz Byakko is just dumb
But probably gonna put Axolotl aside and go for the non iconic version or install a mod to increase difficulty somehow idk
Make sure you go to bed and take a shower when you’re done with gigs. Showering: ‘Refreshed’ status for one hour (regenerates health during combat up to 60%, Sleeping: Applies ‘Rested’ status for one hour (+20% skill XP) and regenerates health
Frankly this is probably a good thing overall because there is a lot of skill checks in the game that allow for very different results or playthroughs that I feel like most people would miss out on if they werent a high enough level. Hell, there are skill checks in the beginning heist of the game!
The perk points are immediately refundable and the attribute points can be refunded once if you desperately want a different build.
Did they buff XP with 2.0? I’m about to do Panams Highway Queen mission, which I think is the last 1 for her and I’m waiting for the call for Judy’s last mission. Haven’t done Search and Destroy (where you meet up with Takemura after the parade mission) yet so I’ve had the main story on hold. I’ve completed every gig and NCPD hustle outside of Dogtown and I’m lvl 59, did 2/3 of that before the update so that’s why I’m wondering if XP was buffed. The way your map looks I should have hit lvl cap before I cleared all the gigs lol
Edit: forgot to mention I also already did the 1st 2 PL missions to get access to Relic tree
Only thing keeping quick level back is lacking the ability to freely respec (from what i have experienced for now)
So it’s not just me.
I played around launch but walked away after 90 hours and beating the game. I haven’t played in years, but i could have sworn we didn’t level this fast before. I’m lvl 33 in under 20 hours of playtime which seems really fast.
good, that way the game is way more fun, you dont have to grind forever to even get to some normal levels like before, enemies aswell level up to you, so there is no easy fight
I wish we had 70 levels instead. Level 60 kinda feels like a cockblock. I will forever be pissed at cool sitting on a 18.
I enjoy actually having content to do after max level. Imagine if they balanced the game so you alway hit max just before the final mission. That would fucking suck. One mission to enjoy your full build? Yeah no thanks.
Isn’t the new cap level 60? I thought I read that somewhere. I also think leveling is faster but I am ok with it. I want to get to Adam Smasher glowing with power so I can kill his sorry ass more easily.
2.0 has so many awesome changes but it’s like you can hear the devs drunken tears.. they needed to overhaul basic game mechanics.. again.. seemingly at the last second with clearly insane deadlines.. again..
janky stuff up overall compared to something like 1.5, 1.6.
Nah I like it. Before it felt like the game was pretty much over by the time you had some of the cooler iconic weapons and upgrades.
Well think of it as something to do when you eventually return to the game and wanna kill some time roaming around night city.
I don’t mid it being quick. Means I’ll get better loot throughout the story and some quests. I did all the gigs, ncpd scanners, amd cyberpsychos in Watson amd I’m level 30 with like 42 SC. Only just finished Gimme Danger. Plenty of story left, plus PL. And all the other side stuff in every other district. Will make for a badass V by the end.
Yeah, I rushed the main story until PL, did a handful of gigs, some Panam and some Judy, and that got me 30. PL to the end and Hands’ gigs got me to 57. I had 3 levels before capping before the monstrous amount of things left to do and it took the fun out of it. I’ve beat the game three times so I’m not ready to replay it but maybe modders will fix it.
Wasn’t it pretty much always like this? At least for street cred. I remember back when the game came out and I had cleared everything in Watson before going to do the heist and my street cred was maxed already.
Even at max lvl I can still get excited over FINALLY finding a dang RAM capacity shard.
My only complaint is not being able to play past the elevator going to the 42nd floor because of low frame rates and I clip through the floor falling to my death.
They claim to be fixing it with 2.01 but that’s dumb. This is game breaking and should be coming out with its own immediate patch. It’s not like I can skip this mission.
That’s my only complaint. Thanks for listening.
So I started fresh and 2.0 and have done all the main and side gigs available up until the point of no return in the main quest line and up up to the casino in Dogtown and I’m not level 50 yet. The only side gigs I have left in the base game are ones that are time gated like Kerry’s which I’m almost done with.
I’ve also done NCPD, Cyberpyschos and the fixer side gigs as I’ve come across them including doing all the fixer gigs in Dogtown up to the casino.
So I guess Dogtown just gives way more XP then the base game.
The reward system has put different iconics and upgrades in just random bits of the world. One of my favorite SMG iconics came from a random NPD patrol while the quest that cracked me up the most came from a Gig. The reward for the gig wasnt anything crazy but the story involved with it cracked me up. Doing the random car thefts gets you a wider range of cars to buy as well as a huge chunk of loot for upgrades.
I love being able to reach level cap early. That means more time to just enjoy endgame-level builds. Don’t need to progress further in terms if strength. If my current build starts feeling old, I just switch for a new one, maybe something completely against how I play the game the first time.
I hate games that tease me with a high level cap only to realise I can’t even enjoy much of it. Sometimes, I don’t even reach it prior to the final mission. Getting to level up 2 to 3 times in just 3 missions is amazing for me.
Cyberpunk 2077 prioritizes the narrative. There are enough RPG elements to draw me in but it doesn’t use grind to gate content. I like it this way. The whole game is built around the idea of V being a badass everyone turns to so it’s almost a requirement that he/she be overpowered.
That said, I do agree that the game is just a bit too easy. The funny thing is that 2.0 makes combat a lot more engaging but somehow V feels even more overpowered.
Yeah i think that was the intention. You are supposed to get to level 50 somewhat quickly now so you can get your build going. The hard part now is aquiring new cyberware and gear.
I like it because I get to actually be OP af for more than 3 missions.
Though I agree it could be tweaked a bit.
Thinking I’ll mod it to slow it down on later playthroughs.
I like that leveling was a little speedier. All it really affects is the tiers of loot accessible to you and of course the Attribute / Skill points.
To be honest, in pre-2.0 it took a long time and a lot of point investment to get certain builds to shine. It’s nice that you can level a bit more quickly and get a decent build going much earlier.
I swear people complain about leveling to quick, the moment they alter it people will just get mad that it takes to long to level, every gamer is Goldilocks and the porridge is never the right temperature.
Just wish I had more biz and gigs. They were so special and unique.
i did the opposite. sitting at level 51 now and haven’t done any quests. just the cyberphycos, and all the ncpd assaults and organized crime
I thought the level cap was 50?
I’m using a mod that reduces leveling by 40% and it feels a lot better. Also reduced street cred by 60% and skill leveling by 20%.
My complaint is that police chases are not fun and get triggered by things I would never expect.
Why did people want this?
Alot of the changes have made the game less fun.
The skill tree rebuild is amazing but the actual gameplay isn’t better, it’s worse.
100% disagree. I hate games that make you do everything just to hit cap.
Like what’s the point of cap of there is nothing left to do….
Let alone it destroys replay value if you did everything in one playthrough for a game that literally has variant dialogue, origins, etc.
I agree, but I’m going to throw on a bonus of “I dislike that EVERYTHING scales to you too”
I’m a Netrunner, but I had planned to drop a few points into body here and there to get to the amount needed for Brendan. Finally hit the target, went back to brendan, and the requirement had jacked up[ to like 15 or somethin. So now i’ve wasted a few points into body, and STILL can’t do the Brendan questline.
You gotta be like 50/60 hours in at this point. Seems like a good pace to me
I got max level with a few hours
Does 2.0 give us more money too? Can I finally get the last achievement on my list (buying all of the cars) if I start a new playthrough?
When you feel there is no progression left (be that levels or anything else) respec to completely different build and start collecting cyberware / weapons for that. There are mods out already that bring back the one time respec button permanently.
I’m pretty much at the same spot as you with lv 55 and same quests done and i’m on my third build.
Loot scaling should also be different. I’m getting maxed tier loot while not even near the level cap. Non scripted tier 5 loot should be done when within 20 levels of the level cap.
