I haven’t had a PC before and just got a prebuilt gaming laptop about 10 years ago but I need to replace it as it just broke the other day and was wondering if this is a good deal for $1412 CAD and if I would be able to play mainly swtor on it and if it could run video editing programs?

Hello Look-Expensive, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

You’re getting ripped off for 1400. Best Buy prebuilt usually are shit

Hi so yes you would be able to do some medium tier video editing and play video games in 1080P and considering the prebuilt space in Canada this is not *that* bad of a deal *however* I would strongly recommend building your own as you can get a far better deal for your money such as this rig

Gives you far superior performance for the price and I included a headset, mouse and keyboard as well.

Edit: And this is what I would recommend for your use case if the budget allows – https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/DHNxsh

Swtor can be played on most modern air fryers.

But jokes aside, yes that PC could easily play swtor on max settings and use editing software. But price to performance on these prebuilts is often lacking.

I, and I’m sure just about everyone else here would recommend doing some research and building the PC yourself. You’ll get way more bang for your buck and its a great skill to have.
