The “Rumor” flair is not really accurate, because it’s not a rumor at all.

The EU has opened an informal inquiry into potential anti-competitive behavior of Nvidia. French authorities raided Nvidia offices as part of this. But there’s no official investigation going on (yet).

Note that the term “raided” often applies more dramatic events than what actually happened. It’s usually not heavily armed officers bursting through the doors, but a much more calm and collected search for evidence.

Did they get some good GPUs out of that?

    Well…

There’s nothing Nvidia can do now…

*In today’s news, Jensens fortune has been found to be comprised solely of leather jackets and blue jeans. It turns out the tacky kitchen he showed off in that server debut was just a green screen, and he’s been living in a cubicle for years. More at 10 PM ET.*

See here is the thing tho, this isn’t like other business developments. I know this might seem like a stretch, but just remember that all governments on Earth currently have a Monopoly on Force within their own borders, and that is indeed the basis for every government currently in existence on earth. Now:

NVidia makes 80% of AI chips. AI is poised to be the next Computer/Flight/Combustion Engine/Mass Produced Footware/Steam Engine/Shipborne Broadside/Compass/Printing Press/Steel/Gunpowder/Looms type of advancement. The government, with no proof of wrongdoing, would find itself very easily in the position of needing to enforce their Monopoly of Force against such a developments primary stakeholder/beneficiary. Because the basis of any government on earth is that they maintain a Monopoly of Force within their own borders, and companies that are able to dictate global markets through their sheer influence could be considered a threat to that monopoly.

So what I am saying is, there is almost 0% chance we are going to get accurate reporting about this. Not for a few decades.

  10. Damn they’ve been raiding those offices for days now

  11. Must have been those stolen frames I’ve been hearing about
