Some people are working hard in the shadows to bring Warzone 1 and Verdansk back. We’re really not asking for much. Just give us the map back with the MW2019 mechanics and guns, stripped off all the vanguard and CW bs, and that’s it. They managed to find a way to crack an older build of the game, create local games and have friends join. The project is obviously still in its preliminary phase. No online support as of yet, but soon, I’m sure they’ll have a Warzone 1 client for everyone to play.
I got to hop on Verdansk offline and I got to play around with the different settings they have under the hood, one of them was the third person mode. I enabled it, and while there’s no crosshair and it’s not perfect, someone sat down and programmed the third person camera, the shoulder switching mechanic, and the rest. It is playable with some tweakings, and yet they never released it although the game is BEGGING for it to have a 3rd person mode.
Jumping back into Verdansk with MW2019 graphcis and mechanics in their full glory felt extremely satisfying. The game visually just looks a whole lot cleaner. Visibility is still an issue obviously, but nowhere near what we have in Warzone 1 with the visual noise and cluttered busy surroundings.
I’m almost certain Activision will make sure this project will never see the light of day, but I’m hopeful we will at some point play a 150 players match in Verdansk.
Blackout was better and was certainly the peak.
There was a third-person mode in MW2/WZ2 but they took it out at some point. I really liked it but I know a lot of people didn’t, or I suspect it wasn’t very popular at least.
Verdansk was great . I really miss it. Amazing for Plunder , that shit was wild

Nothing will replace Covid Superstore drops, but to act like this was perfect is crazy still hahah. Getting ptsd of a roze skin sitting in a corner cause I can’t see anything in there hahaha
