Hey everyone, I have had this 5900x with PBO on auto since I got it. I was doing a bit of research and found out people were able to get more performance out of their chip by undervolting. I’m watching a couple videos but still seem kind of confused by the whole thing and just wanted to ask for some advice.

My specs: 5900x , ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming , G.SKILL Ripjaws V 2x8gb 1.35v CL16-19-19-39 F4-3600C16D-16GVKC

I think my ram is pretty bad but it hits advertised speeds at 3600mhz with 1800fclk with no issues so not sure.

Just need advice about my current chip like if it looks like its underperforming or how I go about testing out basic OC. Would really appreciate it this is a completely new field for me thanks

For gaming do PBO + Curve Optimizer undervolt (stress test with corecycler 12h run)

For video editing and such a traditional static overclock will be faster

Also if you can look into optimizing your ram. 3600 16 19 19 sounds like a Hynix CJR/DJR bin. Both should be able to hit 3800. Timings wise i would expect CJR to do 3800 16 19 19 28 1.45V with 4 6 16 RRDs and FAW. DJR is a bit looser on the timings but should do 4 4 16 RRDs and FAW. Look up the integralfx mem oc guide on github for more info.
