For me, cold war was better in the sense of being able to use your weapons, level up very well (weapons, Battlepass, rank), use your skins, etc.
Bo4.
The deepest abyss vs the highest peak. There isn’t even any competition here.
BO4, though Cold War is fun too.
Bo4 had more fun ee to me with a better story but cw has better gameplay. The maps on cw got more stale to me faster than bo4 since they are way more simple. If you want complex fun go bo4 if you want simple fun go cw
Unlike BO4, I really enjoyed Cold War throughout its launch and map releases. But I gave BO4 a second chance in 2021 and haven’t stopped playing it since. I took the time to understand all the maps and came to appreciate the difference in its mechanics. For me, it has since eclipsed Cold War and is in the same tier as BO3
BO4 hands down. CW for me was so lifeless. The perk system was great I’ll give it that but after the end of the aether story, CW was the start of this bland rendition of zombies which fails to grab you the way previous games had. I never go back to it due the lack of character. It was fun for a time but it is far from great. BO4 has its flaws there’s no doubt but it was what hardcore fans wanted. At least at first. CW is for casuals and that’s ok if ppl like it. But it’s not for me.
I care more about bo4, both in terms of story and I’m how complex/engaging the gameplay of the maps can be.
CW. BO4 was bad.
Cold War by quite a lot
Perk systems and all of that stuff is better in Cold War but bo4 for the aether flavor
Cold War – everything about BO4 sucked balls.
Things they each introduced that were worth keeping (in my own opinion)
Bo4: Gauntlet mode, difficulty levels (but done differently)
Cold war: Ammo crates, Armor system, Tier upgrades (the ones with aetherium crystals), milestone round bonus XP, bottomless perk system (perks nerfed in future games hopefully), ability to choose your character (not operators though), choosing your AAT instead of blowing points on gambling for the one you want, pack a punch tier I II and III system, spawn with whatever you want (next game should give you a weak pistol option for people who wanna play like it’s classic), weapon xp level up system, tons of attachments for maximum weapon customization, toggleable flashlight (mauer)
I think I’ll take Cold War.
BO4 easily. CW is garbage in comparison.
There was a poll on here a few days ago, Cold War got the majority of the votes.
Both not Great but go with bo4 because they actually had characters
