Ok, so as we all know, Warzone 1 has been shut down. It is no longer accessible within Modern Warfare 2019. The thing is, this isn’t entirely true.
As many of us know, much of the content in Warzone 1 is still there. I’m sure many of us have seen Call of Duty Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War skins running around in Modern Warfare 2019, unchanged since the shutdown. Those have been exploitable in the game for years now, so that isn’t exactly news, though it is surprising that nobody got around to fixing that for the closure of Caldera.
The kicker that I found is in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As more and more of the focus went to live service and pushing people towards more modern titles and Warzone, Black Ops Cold War’s online UI has undergone very little change. DLC weapons still aren’t selectable in create-a-class, the store isn’t usable, and bundle content does not appear offline. Additionally, it still has the UI selections for launching the other games in that era of Call to Duty. It is very out of date, with Vanguard still showing up as a preorder, and Modern Warfare 2 being nowhere in sight.
Thing is, Warzone is still selectable, albeit with the screen still showing the season 3 view of dig site with the giant skeletons. And playing Black Ops Cold War offline, WARZONE 1 IS LAUNCHABLE. It is completely unpopulated, of course, so playing a match is completely impossible.

Update: Nvm, they fixed the ui on Black Ops Cold War already. Still goes to show that they didn’t remove anything of Warzone 1, just the button to open it up

If you launch mw2019 from mw2 it takes you to warzone.
Now we can only try one thing. 50-100 of us, go there and click on Quads or Solos and wait to see what will happen. If only this could blow up fast so people try that before Activision discovers and patches this. Maybe the servers are still up and running?
Damn this is a nice discovery. I know about the Cold War offline menu and that it looks like the game used to back in the day (it has a pre-order Vanguard on left, Warzone with the cranes in the middle and whatnot).
Or maybe just leave the game running, press on quads and wait. Leave it waiting for ages, what if this gets noticed? Damn this is a very interesting discovery, if the servers are still running this will be huge news and expose Activision as assholes even more.
