is star wars considered a cyberpunk universe? it’s very technological and distopyan, but people seem to only consider cyberpunk when it has bunch of neon lights and shit

you mean it has the vibe visually. But this way half Sci-Fi could be Cyberpunk, or many non-Cyberpunk but visually similar could be included too. Cyberpunk is not a visual style predominantly, is it?
Edit, ah yes, technologically too. But that falls under the above caveats too.
