I’ve taken this 120mm fan duct on and off many times to test the difference in r15. With it on I have max temps drop by 3c on average. Maybe it’s getting less exhaust from the gpu? I have no idea.

Ducts help. It’s as simple as that. Common in prebuilts, not very practical for custom pc’s with widely varying configurations.

Shroud probably helps develop a slight vortex = more airflow

ducts help because you reduce the amount of turbulence in the air which allows fan to pull more of air in than it would otherwise pull

you can cross reference this with ITB setups on engine dynos and their sheets showing difference because air velocity changes as you increase RPM’s especially when you port intake and exahust runners

the fans dont fit the heatsink so heat was recirculating

For the love of components. Raise that pc of that carpet and clean the whole inside to make it dust free. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    The ducting increases airflow

Think trumpets on the end of an individual throttle body

If you bell mouthed the entrance to the duct like an itb it’d probably drop another 3c

  7. With the adapter you probably get more fresh air from the front of the case instead of warmed air from the GPU.
