I would have loved for it to be a Town-esc map. Meaning this would be a simple survival map rather than an objective based. I think this would have made it s tier for me.
I really don’t care if a map is S-tier, just that it is fun.
With Der Anfang, you really can’t have fun in the actual map until you do the void thing for round based progression, and that is a super scuffed version of basic round-based.
I actually do like the idea of Der Anfang being a mix between Outbreak and Round-based, the problem is that progression is exclusively through objectives. I wouldn’t mind a round based experience in the actual Der Anfang part of the map but doing the objectives to open up parts of the map.
Oh yeah, also have a unique wonder weapon to the map.

Ok so first of all scrap the objective based gameplay and turn it into a round based map.
Assuming that we would keep all the current areas somehow it would need to function like Revelations with portals connecting all the maps. Take all the stuff in the hub area, pack-a-punch, perks etc and spread them out in the other areas, maybe you do an objective to get a piece of the pack-a-punch machine and once you’ve done them all it’s built.
Reword the point system to function like Cold War or even better BO3.
Remove the pack-a-punched weapons from the mysery box by default as it ruined the flow of progression, maybe have it be part of the easter egg completion reward. Speaking of…add a decent easter egg with some kind of boss fight. Wouldn’t even need to be insane just have a tough enemy that you fight through all the different areas.
Add actual characters with voice lines rather than operators.
Even just these changes would make the map decent, not S tier becuase frankly you’d need to tear down the whole thing and start again but this would have at least been acceptable.
I found it fun, after like the fifth playthrough, then it dropped off
By deleting its existence
Basically, scrap the entire CW model and make it a round based map with a smaller Easter egg like The Giant.
Die Maschine was perfect.
