I think this bill with bipartisan backing completely opens up the possibility for some state’s internet to be run like China, where their attorney general can interpret the vague language and strongarm social media companies into censoring content they personally don’t like, claiming to protect kids but is really a bill that may affect EVERYONE’s access to information/content. There was a book like this called 1984.

Almost half the country votes in the GOP for governor, representative, senate…they’re getting what they wished for. It’ll bite them in the ass too, but that won’t stop people from voting for them.
This isn’t new by any means… the only difference is that content will be policed by the state… that is the only issue I see people having with it.
You live in a world were most people in western society strive for a large screen TV and a smart phone while barely being able to afford to feed themselves, where misinformation is weaponized by one country or politcal party against another, where digital profiles of people are constructed based on search queries and volunteered information on social media platforms run by large multi billion dollar companies and where emerging AI Tech is being utilized by scammers against the population.
Cyberpunk is no longer a dream… its a reality.
