With how easy it is for them to make money, i mean david made enough for s basic plan from one delivery, you’d think more fixers & edgerunners would buy a Trauma team plan besides Faraday

I assume because they might treat the other runners as hostile. Or because it’s paying money to a corpo. I’m not really sure though.

It costs a lot of money and, if Trauma Team is like Doc Wagon from Shadowrun, they probably won’t operate on Corp territory.

Trauma team exist so that tabletop players can use them?

I’m sure I read that they were invented because a sci fi setting like cyberpunk didnt have magical healing or revival from the dead like DnD does, and TT was a way to introduce a version of that to give player characters a chance to avoid permadeath when they mess up. At a steep cost or course.

I also believe docwagon came along shortly after cyberpunk introduced TT, for similair reasons.

Always felt trauma team was an under used part of the game, wish there was a mission as a trauma team member or wish they we just involved more

They do. It’s not shown in the anime or video game because it would kind of ruin the story of trauma swooped in to save V from random enemies or David from Smasher. In the Ttrpg there are rules and prices surrounding how the players can use trauma team to save themselves if the fall in too deep.

because it’s a video game and it would take a lot of work and an insane amount of balancing to work trauma team into the player’s bag of tools. there would be no way to implement it in a way that doesn’t break the game and/or make players unhappy and dissatisfied with it.

there are a lot of things in the ttrpg that they didn’t put in 2077.

In the Edgerunners anime, we definitely see a fixer use Trauma Team. It would also mess with the gameplay if you had a squad of level 50 NPCs with endgame weapons to back you up in every fight.

In the TTRPG you can break your card, then you roll to see if they get there before you bleed out. It wouldn’t make a hell of a lot of sense to do that in the videogame, and it’d be a hell of a deus ex machina to use in the anime.

You don’t want TT to have your info on file.

You might be kidnapping or assaulting one of their clients and they show up. Instead of just going “Unidentified assailants in the area”, they can just zip your deets to NCPD and get you in heaps of trouble. Probably cancel your contract too.

  10. I would love there to be a feature if you have a trama team membership, there a chance when you go down they show up, fight who you where taking on and try to fix you up. Be really cinematic and fun to watch some npc wars.

Actually in edgerunners, the fixer did have trauma team coverege. Regarding the rest, its plausable that trauma team wont cover just anybody… Or edgerunners dont think the need it… They do live on the edge.

  12. It’s a shame that they introduce trauma team + put them on every street corner, but never let us interact with those anymore.

Trauma Team would fit so well in the game.

Just imagine you could subscribe to a trauma team plan and if you die you see a short cut scene of trauma team arriving and rescuing you. Next, you would wake up in front of the hospital again.

It would be a nice gimmick, similar to the old GTA games, where you respawn at a hospital when you die.

They could even provide different plans like:

    1. Basic plan: they rescue you and bring you to hospital
    2. They respawn you and heal you on spot + disappear.
    2. They respawn you and heal you on spot + fight with you.

Every subscription would be just once. If they rescue you once, you have to “renew” the plan for amount X.

On “hardcore” mode, this would also add a rogue like element to the game. If you die without subscription your game ends and your save file gets destroyed.

For David, I could see him refusing to get a TT contract after what happened to his mother…

Look up Trauma Team costs. Outside of our own Edgerunner, V – jobs for these types don’t come at a pace that grants them the ability to stockpile Eddies the way we get the chance to. Add to that the cost of living that isn’t actually factored into our playing a game would be my best guess.

    They simply can’t afford to.

  15. Irbricksceo

I mostly wanna know why they don’t show up more in game. So many gigs end when you fire the shot, what if, for a change, you suddenly had to fight your way out past tt

  16. DedJohnny

I’d assume Trauma Team is something only the Corpos can afford.

  17. Carolina-Roots

I wish we could moonlight as Trauma Team for cash. Kinda like how ambulances are private in the USA.
