Here before everybody whines about the frost rework
put them on windows, until people start rappelling upside down to shoot them. At that point, put them on vaultable rotate holes or pick someone else.
Also place your traps off-center with the window frame. The attacker will still get trapped in it, but it’s harder to shoot on a moment’s notice.
Another placing suggestion: at the top of any stairs (not ladders). You'd be surprised how often they go unnoticed until they step on it. Extra powerful on carpeted stairs, where they don't stand out as much
Top of stairs catch more people than window animations.
If you make rotates to retreat from a roam position anyone following you gets their legs snapped off if you set a trap behind it. People are less wary of traps around vaults that arent windows.
The only map I got 3/3 frost mat kills was theme park. I did top floor arcade window, on the rubble if front of bakery, & that 90 doorway from arcade towards breakroom. Other good ones are that storage room and lower arcade wind.
Try to put them somewhere where people wont expect. You dont know how many time i got someone because they were hard scopeing while going up stairs

I just place them randomly and somehow people always step in them
Frost mats can sometimes work to bait crosshair displacement.
Another suggestion, next to doorway, but not in them, its common for players to be looking at head height (at least in higher ranks) when peaking a doorway and walk right into the frost mat
Also dont feel to upset if your mat geys destroyed, thats still intel on where the attacker is
Also also, if you know your mat was droned out and the attacker doesn't expect you to, hold the angle, odds are the attacker will aim for your mat when they peak, not at head level like normal, having a degree of control on where your enemy will look is extremely strong
You forgot the stairs mats and the mats you're putting down by making vaultable holes or the V mat near the doors. I'm so sad she'll be shit after the nerfs 🙁
