Could of survived this ending if he never fought smasher? Let’s say Lucy never needed to be saved or anything could he have survived going forward if he sought out the proper help? Or was he doomed the minute he became like this? I always wondered if he could survive how would his life be walking around looking like a mech and still trying to do gigs etc etc.

Zero
As anything but a fragmented construct, zero. David Martinez by the end was more or less completely psychotic, in the clinical sense of the term. “Psychosis” is often used wrongly in the media, but it is a clinical term of art, and it is used to describe a person in so much emotional and psychological distress that their senses have become disordered to the point that contact with external reality has been completely lost.
And that’s exactly where David was, with the sole exception of extremely brief lucid periods when he was in direct contact with Lucy. He didn’t know where he was, he didn’t understand what was happening, and he couldn’t respond coherently even as his life was being threatened. The neural load demanded by the cybernetics in his body was far, far too much for even his tolerances to handle. David was no longer home. And his condition was unsurvivable; even if he’d have made it, and not met Smasher, MaxTac would have taken him down as an impermissible threat to Night City.
What’s the probability David Martinez
He was doomed before he put the suit on. He was pretty much full borg after the timeskip, how much of his head and torso is still organic is unknown. It could be most of it, it could be just his brain.

As for this, the answer is he wouldn’t. Let’s say he survived and somehow was not psycho, he would get his old limbs put back on, or get new ones. If he is full borg he could get another body.
no chance, if he hadnt fought smasher he would go completely psycho either way, as he would run out of the supressants, so he would get gunned down afterwards by maxtac
He went down his path VERY early on as you can trace the start of it all to the incident with his mom. He immersed himself in a lifestyle that constantly triggered his trauma and forced him to make actions he normally wouldn’t have and pushed him to get more and more cyberware.
But he wasn’t in a position to afford therapy and any opportunity he had wasn’t in his interest but the interest of others. There was no happy ending for him.
David was already on borrowed time, much like V in the game (although for different reasons). It’s the running theme of cyberpunk.
All the suit and the fight did was speed up the clock on David’s death/cyberpsycosis
No hope for bro tbh. Maybe they locked his ass in a relic seson 2 idea
He was dead the second he even got near this, no way of him living after putting it on
Slim to non sadly
The second he got installed into the cyber skeleton it was over. He had a chance to downgrade and slowdown beefier hand, but not after
His legs and arm were cut off right to fit into the machine?
Enough Copium OP, some stories just don’t have a happy ending unfortunately.
Nah, David was so far gone that getting Smashed was basically a mercy kill in the end.
I know this somewhat isn’t related but since arasaka made an engram of Jonny they might have also made one for David but then again he might’ve also been too far gone mentally to make one
