I agree with the 9/10 rating, Buried is such a unique and fun map, one of the most innovative in bo2. Also I think the fact that after round 70 you can’t kill with the paralyzer is something positive, it makes high round attempts very refreshing

Time bomb cheeses made this so map easy too for various strategies. Using it on the money drop to double your money, using it to get double perks from the witches etc. But it was a cool concept

Buried is crazy unique, with how many new features there are it shouldn’t have worked but it just does. Super fun and unique casual map.

I’d give it an 8.5 because of those goddamn witches stealing as much money from me as the neo nazis 😤

The best casual map, at least for me. So much shit was just thrown at it to see what would work, and by some miracle, I think all of it *did.* One of my favorite maps to play for when I just want to kick back and have fun, though it’s not without it’s flaws.
I don’t see it being really easy as an inherent issue, but I will mention it here because it turns a lot of people away from this one. Fact is though, we need maps like Buried, maps where you can just relax and shoot some Zombies. It shouldn’t *all* be like that, but some maps, certainly. Completely agree, while I love the concept of the Time Bomb, it can easily result in some infuriating moments in public matches. Some fucker picks this up on round 2, throws it down, and activates it 30 rounds later. Not terribly enjoyable. Maybe it should’ve stayed a Grief exclusive. And lastly, 4 player EE! Every one of these that pop up in a map make it a tad worse, imo. Bit of a shame.
For pros, I love the atmosphere, and concept of the map. An old, abandoned mining town, buried (haha) underground. Next to it, a mansion occupied by ghosts, leading to a giant hedge maze. There’s a lot to appreciate about all this. This map introduced so many new goodies. The Ray Gun Mark 2, a gun just as iconic as it’s original counterpart, and one that would retroactively be added to all the BO2 maps! The Time Bomb is an intricate little device, that (when not used to fuck over players) can do so many little things, if you know how to use it right. And the Paralyzer, an infinite ammo Wonder Weapon that’s actually good! Sorry, Jet Gun. It can slow down and eventually combust the undead, as well as giving you the ability to fly! Such a fun Wonder Weapon, even if it’s not the most practical in terms of killing the undead. Shoutouts to the Remington New Model Army, as well. Being able to customize where the wall weapons go is such a fun little gimmick that I’m surprised hasn’t been brought back yet. Makes this map all the more special, at least. Speaking of wall weapons, the LSAT is a super fun one, that’s a challenge to obtain. I enjoy wall weapons that require a bit of work to access. Leroy’s (his name isn’t Arthur, Blundell) great! Give him booze, he’ll smash the debris, and giving him candy results in a wide variety of unique things. Holding a crawler for you, moving box locations, keeping the box at a specific location, etc. The buildables on this map are pretty fun! They’re all in one building, so it isn’t hard to find them, and if you somehow struggle, Leroy can just make it for you. The Subsurface Resonator and Head Chopper deserve special mentions, very fun makeshift traps. And lastly (though I could keep going for a while), I really like the hud. The hud being stylized to fit the map it’s on is just a really nice detail. Mob had this too, and so will Origins! Wish that stuck around.
It’s not my favorite map, but Buried might be the map I have the most fun with. Earning the ultimate power in the form of upgrade staffs, bows, and gauntlets is all enjoyable in the long run, of course. But when I just want mindless fun in this mode, this is the goto map for me. Zielinski went out with a bang, that’s undeniable. I’d go 9.5/10

Buried innovated so much with the chalk and npcs but I wish the chalk drawings carried over to other games
