I’ve been seeing so many ads for these cool-looking LED-infused robotic cyberpunk masks, and I am quite suspicious. Let me explain.

First off, wether you look at these things on Amazon, Etsy, or wherever they’re being sold it is the exact same products from multiple different sellers, which stinks of some dropshipping enterprise.

Second, they are ridiculously expensive. Although I could drop 80-150 dollars on one of these things, it seems suspicious that an ordinary piece of plastic with cheap LED’s is fetching such a king’s ransom.

Finally, after a while of browsing, I realized something. Almost every single one of these masks is based on the same basic template, (which goes for like $30) with drone propellors, LED’s and painted decals slapped on.

I want one of these pretty bad, but not bad enough to get scammed. What exactly is going on over here? Is there a central mystery brand selling these things that I just can’t find? Is it a DIY sort of thing, where you select your own parts, assemble, then paint it? I hope that the users here may know.

I have that exact mask as in the picture and I DJ in it. It’s great

Most of them are just cheap put-togethers like you speculated, best bet is finding someone who takes helmet commisions and have one made. Probably come out around the same price or slightly more but worth it for it to work longer than a few weeks 😅

It’s a halloween mask. Either you want to spend that much dough or you don’t.

I’ve seen some people on the airsoft sub that use them for the game. Apparently they hold up well for that surprisingly but im sure it really depends on where you get em

  5. You can make them using the same parts they buy online and spend about 1/3 as much money. But guaranteed, they are better at it than you.

They are exactly what you suspect. AND there’s plenty DIY videos for these masks. Like you said, they use drone propellers and some stickers slapped on a paintball mask. You can make one for a fraction of the price.

I recently got into the mechanical keyboard hobby and ive been noticing this trend of, well of two things. 1. A lot of shit is being made extremely cheaply over in china and being sold on Amazon equivalents. Alliexpress, Tenmu, Shiene, etc. a lot of key caps and key cap knock offs all sold for really cheap. And 2. Some of these chinese sellers, youll find on etsy reselling the same shit for waaay more money.

Truthfully if you want one of those Cyberpunk masks. I suggest Tenmu. The app seems almost scammy the way it operates but it is legit. If you keep your expectations in check. It will constantly send you deals and these so called “games” where the goal is to get like 4-6 other people to download the app and in exchange you can get free shit.

I put games in quotations because you’ll spin a wheel and its always the same outcome where you get so close but you need just a little bit extra points to get the free thing which is where you hounding your friends and family to download the app will come in. It feels a little dirty but its not so bad so long as you only do it a few times. There’s a reason its the number downloaded app.

The free shit and products are legit and a lot of the time you can see people posting reviews with videos. But yea check out Tenmu. You can find some pretty cheap ones. Some around $50 bucks. Or play those games hound your friends and get it for free. Just be aware the pricier the item. The more friends youll have to invite.
