  1. I played Aliens at release.
I never realized it was considered near impossible to complete, I just headbanged it for months until I hated it.
No internet connection back then, couldnt look up tips n tricks.
Had to read about that shit in a physical magazine that cost an arm and a leg, so I ended up just giving up on it.
And it was sad, I truly loved the franchis, and yes, the game was great as tie-in to the movie.
You felt like you were in the Nostromo, was scary AF

  2. PS1 was such an excitement. That machine was so hyping. It hyped me for the near future even tho the games were so bad. PS5 doesn't hype me at all. It doesn't deliver what i've dreamed for and most probably it would never deliver. I lost fate in the gaming industry more than decade ago. But yeah PS1 was such excitement. I was thinking "That's just the beginning. Soon we will have much better and in the distant future we will have the real thing"

  3. >So I Played Every First Person Shooter on the PlayStation

Okay, PowerSlave or POed not first person shooters anymore?

  4. i'd say the worst offense that RE; Survivor made was getting rid of the light gun compatibility it had planned, but well, i think we can blame that on the damned braindead politicians that are scared with "videogame violence" but not with whatever is on the movies or TV

  5. @1:05:37 That's actually really dumb. Might as well have canceled all movies with guns in them or something ridiculous like that. "Oh yeah a terrorist ran over a bunch of people with a truck so we edited all of the trucks out of the movie Convoy and removed Hot Wheels box-trucks from store shelves out of respect for the victims." Same sentiment.

  6. THANK YOU so much for doing Resident Evil Survivor justice! I am so frustrated by people acting like it's the worst game ever made. I actually think what happened is that the AVGN video pretty much dictated the opinion of this game for people who haven't played it, and then people who played it subsequently went in expecting it to be terrible so criticised it without the lens of the era it was released, nor noticing some of the interesting mechanics (replaying for different paths to piece together the whole story is fantastic!)

The tank controls are the same as the other Resident Evil games, only in first person. Even the hold-button-to-ready-gun.

It's definitely not a masterpiece, but it deserves a more critical review that keeps in mind the era it was released – than what the internet currently gives it.

  7. In my younger days? I always saw And experienced the PlayStation as having the rpgs, horror, platforming, puzzle and fighter games whereas the N64 had the shooters and the wrestling games lol. I KNOW they both had the fair share of things but that's what I always experienced with the people I grew up with.

Then there was the kid who always wanted to play Lazer tag..

  8. south park on the n64 was arguably a terrible shooter yes, but as a kid the multiplayer had me and my friends hooked for hours. having a kids imagination helps i guess. I remember having so much laughs with the alien ray gun that makes your opponent dance in multiplayer

  9. i swear, my father beat alien: resurrection legitimately! he was unemployed, drinking beer watching mtv and playing playstation and no game was too hard for him. also played a lot of spec ops in coop mode with him. times were hard, i was around 10-12.
that was back in 2001 or so.
now my dad and i dont talk anymore cause the alcohol hit him right in the face and he got some sort of amnesia. he still knows me, but its not the same anymore. but he still enjoys playing some rounds of old ps1 games. even though he forgets afterwards that he played them.

  10. I didn't get internet til a little later than the PS1 era. When I was a kid I bought that Delta Force game because the screen shots in the magazines made it look awesome. Boy was I disappointed.

  11. Love videos like this sooooo much, thank you for all your effort~!

Had a PS1 for years and never played a single FPs on it! It shocks me to know there was this many!

  12. Duke Nukem 3D, I've seen it on NTSC and It really run bad. I've remembered it running at decent frame rate but I had the PAL version. Look it up. The PAL is running a lot better.
