On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Nuketown Zombies? I’ll start:

I’d give Nuketown Zombies a solid 8 out of 10. It’s a classic map with a compact layout that keeps the action intense, and the nostalgia of Nuketown adds to the appeal. The tight spaces can make it both thrilling and challenging, especially as the rounds progress. However, the limited space could also lead to some frustrating moments, and I think a bit more variety in terms of objectives could have bumped up the score. But overall, it’s a map that’s always fun to jump into with friends for some chaotic undead mayhem!

I thought it was dope as fuck. I like the atmosphere and the blue hue. Train spots are fun, camp spots are fun. The dropping in perks is a little annoying, but that makes it kinda hard and unique as opposed to just being a tiny ass map that we already all knew the layout of. I know it gets shit on a lot, so a few months back I went back and replayed it after like 6 years and liked it a lot for what it was. That was back before she left, and I was a lot happier though

Good ol Nukeown. It’s never gonna be a top 10 map for me, but I enjoy it myself, there’s a fair bit to appreciate about it.

However, the random perks certainly ain’t one of those things. It’s been said dozens of times before, but the possibility of you having to wait until round *25* to get Jug is bad enough that I can see why some don’t like this map too much. There also isn’t a lot to do, compared to the rest of BO2’s offerings. Even Tranzit, as much as I dislike it, is still a much more content filled experience. Which, again, could be why some dislike it. And lastly, yeah, I don’t know why the random powerup door is like that. It should’ve refilled with a new power up every couple rounds, with you having to open up the door again to access it. Heck, that’d make high rounds a bit more interesting.

But there’s also a lot of pros to be found! I love how many little nods there are to Moon, considering that this maps happening at the same time as Moon’s EE. Richtofen talking every few rounds, the Zombie eye color changing to Blue after round 25, and the game over sequence being one of the missiles Maxis launched landing straight on Nuketown. There’s also the music easter eggs, which borrow straight from Moon. Good shit. I actually really enjoy the design of this map. It wasn’t meant to be a Zombies map by any means, which somehow translates to it being frantic, challenging, and a lot of fun for me personally. Especially on 4 player Nuketown. The M27 is sick, I missed when maps had exclusive standard weapons, it gives them, and the weapon, a lot more of a unique identity. I like the hidden Galva Knuckle wallbuy. Not a whole lot of maps do something like that, and not that it’s difficult to find, but it adds a lot of charm. I love the ambience of this map. The Tranzit bus just randomly honking, the sound when a perks about to drop, etc. Sound design was on point for this map. And lastly, this is the first map with no repairable barriers! And hey, that’s just kind of neat.

Like I said, it’s not a masterpiece, not even in my top 10, but I did enjoy Nuketown at release, and still do now! It does a lot wrong, and it does a lot right in return. 7/10 personally, though I can see why people would think differently

You’re forgetting an extremely obvious pro:

Even though it’s a remake of a mp map it looks absolutely amazing
IMO one of the best looking maps of all time, not a pretty map obviously but what they do with the nuclear apocalypse style is S tier

Little things like the bus sounds, Marlton and the zombie’s eyes changing too

  5. BlueDemon999

    6/10

Really good idea, a true survival map, but kinda executed poorly.

I’d love an insider look at nuketown’s cut content, I’d be amazed if the map layout was released as intended.

I reckon at least a small bunker portion was originally planned and maybe even held pack at some point.

I also wonder if more of the street was included like we see in alpha Omega’s starting area

  7. Sarcastic_Rocket

For experienced solo players it’s a fantastic survival map, for new players, or co-op it’s a nightmare. I love the map but I get why others don’t like it. 7/10 fun survival map with some challenge

Dude your reviews are so bad. Everytime you post a review of a map you include things that are just not part of the map. It’s the same as saying cons of Shadows of Evil is that there’s not an electric cherry machine.

To rate a map you have to use what features are available on that map.

You can’t just say a con of Nuketown is there are no special rounds, because that’s just not a feature of the map

  9. No_Square_8775

I think at round 25 after you get all the perks the bunker should have opened and then had the pack a punch and a sick camping spot down there
