I have mixed feeling about this

do you have a link? interested about this largest zombies offering to date… hmm? 🤨

I’m getting flashbacks to BO4 which is a good game that had a poor launch. But can we get bigger than BO4 realistically (For those unaware Treyarch was calling BO4 Zombies the biggest zombies experience yet, especially on launch). BO4 in completion has 8 round based maps, 9 gauntlets, 2 separate stories and the rush mode. But we can also look at arguably the biggest experience: BO3 as it had 13 maps and an endless amount of fan made maps. Now I don’t know which one to use as a reference point as they’re both large games in their own ways. Either way I think there’s four options here: 1. This is a bullshit marketing ploy, 2. This is legitimate and it’s gonna be shit, 3. This is legitimate and it’s gonna be good, or 4. This is illegitimate and it’s not going to be “the largest zombies offering to date”

The way they say largest zombies offering too date makes me feel that it’ll be outbreak but on a bigger map , not lots of round based maps

‘Largest’ probably translates to massive Outbreak maps rather than the whole experience.

I think this will likely be on Vanguard levels of execution with potential for something between Cold War and Vanguard. It’ll probably be lacking in personality with the size of an Outbreak map to hopefully fill in that content gap while also adding another arbitrary selling point to MWIII. Because it’s pretty clear Activision just wants to tack on Zombies so that people will buy MWIII.

Treyarch is once again being worked to the bone to deliver something to elevate the sales of Call of Duty even though they desperately need the time to work on their own projects. It feels far too similar to the situation of Vanguard, where Treyarch was essentially thrown on last second to create any sort of mode that would help the sales of Vanguard as a whole.

I really and truly hope I’m wrong and will readily admit it if I’m proven wrong. But what I expect as of this moment in time is one of two scenarios:

    * A continuation of the Dark Aether storyline, but disjunct and disconnected as the story was never meant to translate over to a MWIII universe. It’ll likely just be a separation of the Outbreak mode that has been worked on for some time now, but slightly rushed due to it being tacked onto MWIII instead of COD 2024.
    * A completely disconnected storyline unrelated to the Dark Aether and being forced to confine itself to a MWIII-era storyline. It’ll probably feel like Vanguard, where it has the feels of a different game entirely but was given the Treyarch tinge at the end so that it would work as a selling point for the base game.

I don’t trust Activision / Treyarch / Call of Duty anymore. Vanguard was exactly what I thought it would end up being, and watching Treyarch be forced into the same situation it was forced into ever since the tail end of Black Ops III (i.e. being overworked for content) leaves me feeling anxious and noxious. We’ve seen what happens when Treyarch is used, overworked, and underpaid several times now. Why would we think this time would be any different?

I’ll happily admit I was wrong if they prove me wrong. But I have every right and every bit of reasoning to feel like this is yet another Vanguard waiting to happen. And hearing that they are falling right back into the same mistakes we saw them make years prior, that being Activision using Treyarch as their rebound when other studios fail to create a substantial and stable iteration of Zombies, just makes me feel sick and sad.

Treyarch has been overworked ever since Zombies Chronicles, and to be honest, it’s been mostly downhill since then, mostly because they are simply taking on too much work when they need time to chill. Creativity is great, but not when it’s rushed and forced to conform to a tight schedule and a foundation made by another team. If it’s a free mode like I’ve seen some rumors, I’d be far more lenient. Even then, I don’t feel good about it all.

Rant mostly over. I was waiting patiently for COD 2024 since I thought it could be the best year for Treyarch since they’d finally be given time to actually develop shit for once, but now I’m pissed because they’re once again being used to sell a product. Give them a break.

Idk bo3 was pretty large with its zombies offerings, it had a full zombies campaign, dead ops , zombie song track selector, 14 maps and unlimited community maps with mod tools…. Who am I kidding in terms of content i doubt they could surpass kino on day 1
