I know this seems like an odd question for r/battlestations… But Ive worked at a particle accelerator laboratory for the last 9 years, and am leaving to work at Fermilab. As a farewell gift, they engraved (I’m showing this side so as not to dox myself) a solid copper RFQ stem from before I helped completely overhaul it with new parts.
MY POINT: I have a really heavy, but valuable/meaningful trinket that I want to display somewhere near my desk. How would you guys go about doing this? I’m posting this here because, honestly, displaying unique things in an office seems like something a lot of you do really well.
Like, is there a place I can get a custom stand made for it? I want it to sit horizontal, rotated to display the flat side that has the engraving. Any ideas? Thanks!

“Rotating display stand” is the only option I can think of that suits your needs. You can find one on amazon or aliexpress.
Cool memento… if you want something custom, maybe a lucite embedment?
That’s really cool! I’m assuming the pic shows it upside down and (guessing) the prongs are a little bent from when they removed it. I’d straighten them out and stick them in a nice walnut base.
Angled, in a shadow box, horizontally above your monitor.
Looks like hella heat sink you should make some crazy custom build
Why did u make a guilotine
Put it upside down, and Viva la Revolucion!
I don’t know, but you have quite an interesting career, good luck at the Fermi! 😉
Hang that above the neck in the office, just like Guillotine
