I’ve been a part of this community for a while now, and I’ve always seen people praise this map. Personally, I don’t quite understand where those people are coming from, despite all the explanations I’ve been given. I’m looking for someone or something to really convince me. Tell me why you love CotD so much and see if you’re able to alter my lukewarm opinion on the map.

I love the colours tbh, blueish/grey scale!
The whole crew set atmosphere, the changing weather, everything to set the mood just right
It spooky and the scavenger is cool
One of the best if not the best zombies easter egg song
the only 2-3 things i can think of that doesnt make it S tier:
1. there is nothing that makes george go away forever (without vr)
2. the map is huge, and shouldhave had 1-2 more fast travel methods. also having to go all the wqy around or up for the mule kick boat is ass.
3. lack of an instakill wonderweapon though this complaint is minor because the easter egg is pretty easy for the wunderwaffe.
other than that, no issues
It isn’t. Bad wonder weapons, no traps, too many doors & space that just doesn’t get used. I legit didn’t know where stamin up was until like 2020. You cannot play this map without tutorials
Flop on Georgie
I think it’s grossly overrated
Two words: George Romero
It introduced many of us to A7X for the first time
I hated it when it first came out, especially after Ascension which was kinda groundbreaking. However, now I love this map. I think when I was a kid I was just too impatient to learn it. There’s something so satisfying about the gameplay loop on this map specifically that I can’t quite nail down concretely.
It offers a very unique experience where you have to be constantly on the move because of George and the lack of traps means all the kills have to be entirely from the way you handle your weapons, I’m not saying those make it better but it makes the map memorable and a fun change up from other maps
