Hot take:
Cold war zombies was fun as fuck. If the entire game had better development time, it could’ve been damn near perfect.
Mob of the dead is boring and only cool thing is location. Map is repetitive inside with a lame Easter egg.
Infinite Warfare zombies wasn’t bad
I think Origins is not a fun map, the steps needed to unlock halfway decent items for high rounds are confusing at best and annoying at worst, there are no good hold out spots for when you do get those weapons, the panzers exist, and the generator system is annoying as hell considering they can get deactivated and you’ll lose important perks because of it. The robots are fine considering they follow a set path and don’t instantly kill you, only down you, and the golden helmet will completely prevent you from getting downed by one. The only way Origins is halfway playable is in BO3 with the “get out of jail free cards” and a full team of competent players, solo is nearly impossible unless you’re a literal god of the game.
ghost’s aliens was a fun game mode when it first came out (never needed up playing past 1st DLC)
Shangri La is the best spatially designed , and training the entire map with a full 4 man is unrivaled in fun.
Takeo is the best ultimus character
Well beast from beyond is imo a top 5 map with my absolute favorite boss ever

Origins is one of the worst maps I have ever played and I have played all of them. Blood of the dead has the best story of any map. Infinite warfare had the most fun and balanced Consumables. Cold war was the best gameplay wise zombies has ever been.
Ultimas suck. They aren’t very interesting, with the expectation of Richtofen, and the 2/4 of them just aren’t funny at all.
Most people seem to love cw i didnt think it had a single redeeming quality. Not being mean it just took the exact opposite approach from what i find fun and meaningful.
BO4 is my favorite Zombie game.
CW is great, but I suspect will age similarly to BO1.
Zombies isn’t dead, Activision clearly understands that it sells and wants to support the mode.
Custom Maps are nowhere near Treyarch quality, but, they don’t need to be in order to be so much freaking fun! (which they are)
Infinite Warfare has a better consumables system, play style and Super Easter Egg than Black Ops 3.
The only reason it copped so much hate because all the content creators were autistically screeching because it was their precious BO3 at the time.

Bo1 is extremely overrated. It is so boring and janky. I can’t stand ascension and call of the dead is just bad
every person ive spoken to really loves cold war but i just cant get behind it and only did all the challenge stuff out of FOMO. i never felt any sort of challenge and even did all of the easter eggs in 1-2 tries besides the main outbreak easter egg which took 6.
there was absolutely no sense of fulfillment from doing really anything in that game besides figuring out a couple little things on my own.
i couldn’t develop any emotional connection to any characters besides sam a tiny bit. the story was cool i guess but reading all the intel and such i just couldn’t really find it all that enjoyable. i only ever had fun with that game when playing with friends but every game is fun with friends.
WW2 zombies (The Final Reich at least) is a fun and refreshing take on the Treyarch formula, while also keeping it familiar enough for the average zombies enjoyer. The armour system is a cool alternative to just using Jug as a crutch perk, and the specialist/mod system works really well too.
Vanguard had the best aesthetics of any zombies game.

ww2 zombies was good, obviously there were some problems. but it was the most terrifying and I love horror games so i might be biased.
Well it used to be a hot take idk if people have changed but five is a good map.

Easter eggs are the worst part of zombies.
Cold war is a low tier, hand holdey, arcade game. Obviously not as horrendous and Vanguard, though.
Call of the dead sucks
Call of the Dead is a great map and had so many good ideas. Completely overhated.
It might be purely due to me bashing my head to get this damn egg for a year or more. but I dislike DE, it has some of the most annoying steps I have dealt with in trying to get the easter egg, if I try to play that map casually it has zero going for compared to other maps. It feels exactly same as Kino, go in a circle shoot zombies done get fucking nuked by a Panzer as they are so fucking OP that I get one shot even with Jugg, and bows seem to never fucking work on them.
Carpenter is one of the best power ups, and Nukes are by far the most annoying and garbage power up.
“I don’t want to deal with strong zombies for this Easter Egg let’s try to do as much as possible,” opps you get a fucking nuke because you stabbed a zombie.
I have had nukes kill me more times then save me because of the rapid onslaught of new zombies appearing out of fucking nowhere.
Black ops 2 zombies is ***massively*** overrated. I fucking HATED the 2 hit down system, and just how unfriendly the whole game was to newbies DUE to the 2 hit down system, and (slightly) confusing layout of the maps.
Also, Town fucking SUCKS. Genuinely worse than transit. In tranzit they got too ambitious is all, town is just made for masochists. Farm is the best map.
Zetsubou No Shima is the best zombies map of all time, no questions asked
