Realism didn’t destroy CoD, casuals do when devs pander to their every need. Increased aim assist, no reload cancel, useless slide, no bhop, slowed handling that gets even slower when you jump, slower dropshot were not made in the name of realism. I think it’s pretty obvious after the last few seasons of goofy skins and wacky hero abilities that the devs don’t care about realism. All of the changes were made in the name of casuals.
Keeping casuals dependent on CoD so when they go an play other shooters with actual movement and less aim assist, they get destroyed, realize they aren’t as good as they think, and go straight back to CoD, the only game where they will be able to get kills. This is the direction CoD will be going in from MWII/WZ2 and onward.

I suppose we all did not think that, one way or another.
