After years of trying, I’ve finally made it to round 100 on the Giant. This is only my second ever successful round 100 run, my first was on Revelations using the classic Verruckt camping strat.
As for strategy, I mostly stuck to sulky118’s strategy of camping on the mainframe, though I did do it slightly differently, as I didn’t use Mule Kick and instead used Speed Cola. When I was out of Waffe ammo and alchems, I would train by the RK5 using Blast Furnace (the only AAT to give drops) and try to get either a max ammo, death machine, instakill or nuke.
I had no downs until round 64 but then had two more between then and round 77 when I had my last down, so I played effectively half the game with no room for error.
This run also used only classic gobblegums (unlike my first 100) and I actually removed In Plain Sight and Anywhere But Here from my pack so that I would instantly know if I was getting an Alchemical Antithesis. That said, picking Armamental Accomplishment as one of the blue gums probably saved my run as it lets you throw monkeys faster which saved me on round 97.
Round 96 and 97 were easily the most nerve-wracking experiences I’ve ever had playing this game, as I was out of alchems, paid 500k points to hit a 2nd gobblegum and didn’t get another one and then got all 4 drops in the round before it was anywhere near over. I knew I was going to get a dog round on 98 so I just had to keep training and hope I didn’t get stuck. I ended up getting that last alchem on that dog round so I knew I could use both charges for round 99.
I’m hoping I can eventually hit round 100 on all maps in BO3 (leaving Nacht and Verruckt for last though), next up are Der Eisendrache (PB round 92) and Ascension (PB round 82)
