MAJOR dystopia incoming!

My brain can’t process what an AI-generated drug would be. Drugs have to be physically made, so it’s not like AI art that clumps together stolen assets. If it is randomly assigning chemicals together that it believes will be beneficial for humans (or at least is supposed to be,) surely it will go through all kinds of trials still.

I fail to see anything dystopic about this. Some people just want to panic everytime technology is used in a new way, apparently.

Edit: OP copied this, title and all, straight from a deleted post they commented on 4 hours ago.

Also, to you and the other commenter, I’m not sure how y’all made the leap from “ai is designing new drugs” to “ai is now going to be dictating what we put in our body whether we consent or not”.

    Straight up fearmongering.

There’s enough to actually be afraid of without needing to invent things.

How do you figure? This is extremely positive news.

I’d be interested to see what AI can do for Crohn’s/Crohn’s gene therapy.

I’ve been a sufferer of this shit for nearly 9 years, if AI can “fix” or dampen it somewhat, then I’ll gladly welcome our machine overlords and doctors with open arms.
