I’m G3 playing with G3 and G1. We had several games today with multiple top250 squads, we had been killed by sin and jtecc in our previous match and later in this match were killed by another top250 squad. I guess I feel like I scored a bucket against lebron so that’s kinda cool for an average player like me. But I feel like I shouldn’t be playing against the literal best players in the world…

It’s because we’re essentially playing pubs with a rank attached to our name. The ranked system doesn’t actually match people by rank as presumably that would make queue times too long

SURELY there’s enough high crim and iridescent to fill the dang lobbies. I feel like people would be happy to wait a minute to not get stuck in these. I like to watch streamers but it’s annoying to watch them cry about dying to a gold, “WhAt ArE tHeY eVeN dOiNg HeRe?” asses.

We (all plat) run into top250 every 3 out of 5 games now. Wasn’t like that in the beginning but season 4 has been rough.
We are all on PS5 and would love to play crossplay off, but no dice. Never find a lobby. So we have to deal with playing with pc players that have an audio advantage, advantage at seeing enemies in water and the occasional waller or aimbot.
My thinking is:
– ranked players decrease more and more and they have no true rank system where you play against players one level above or below yours.
– crossplay off is not available anyway (would only make sense tbh because otherwise you would have platform ranked)

“Guys I killed scummn as he was one shot already then I got destroyed by his teammate. My team was full wiped and his came back and won the game. But I still got him even though he was weak already.”
Like what is the point of this? Now if you 1v3 wipe his squad I’ll give mad props. Looked like you got shit on right after when they were hard pushing you guys camping the building.
You don’t expect there to be one lobby every 25 minutes for TOP250 players, do you?

once i hit plat i can’t get in a match with 0 top 250 players

Ranked WZ with a buy in system cannot use rank/skill base matchmaking. If you filled a lobby with 150 iridescent players who start with a -110 SR, it’s likely that more than 120 of those players will end up losing SR that match. 110 SR is a top 10 finish (+40) and 16 team kills, 10 of them you killed or assisted (between +50 and 60, 6 teammate kills +12). If you had strict rank based matchmaking, the buy-in would be equal at every rank at something like -55 SR.

Me and my buddies ran through swag and his squad back in verdansk. They promptly came back from the gulag and wrecked us before we even knew what hit us.

What I would’ve done:
1. Take Scummn down as you did (no need to thirst)
2. Drill charge the stairs to block the trade attempt by Otter
3. Back up to the door you came through or change angles to the other corner of the room
4. Plate
5. Bait Scummn’s body (possibly thirsting), peaking the doorway and jumping through if they bum rushed to change the angle
