I bought this game back in its launch and then sold it when cold War came out. I recently bought the game again on disc, however, the disc no longer works and doesn’t let me download the game, just gets stuck half way and says “something went wrong” (ps5 btw).
I went to see how much it would cost digitally as its often on sale for 20 bucks but I couldn’t find the game on sale, only an option to download the game but I’ve never bought it digitally. Also when I go to select which version of the game I want to download, it just says “the open beta is no longer available to download” and that’s it.
At first I thought this was just warzone 1 however when I clicked download, it also gave me the option to download all the additional multiplayer packs etc that are needed to play the game. It also doesn’t state that it’s warzone 1, it just says “call of duty modern warfare”. Did the game become free or something? I don’t understand what’s happening right now.

Will I perhaps get hit with a pay-wall whenever the game is actually downloaded and I try to play multiplayer?

I was trying to download the game onto an external hard drive made for ps4 games, not ps5 games but I don’t think that would cause the game not to download, even if it runs at 120fps on ps5, its still a ps4 game and I should be able to download and play it on an external harddrive.
