First of all it s from Gabriele Salvadores a renowed italian director.
The plot is about a videogame characted that gains consciousness and when discovers the truth about his situation asks his game developer to erase the game from the mainframe of the megacorp the developer works at. The movie features a dystropian city, a neapolitan who sold his eyes and is stuck with black and white shitty prostethics which often malfunction, personality shards, corpo killers, organ harvesters, and one of the best hacking scene in any cyberpunk movie ever.
If you like cyberpunk do go and find a copy and watch it asap, it s the shit.
A last nugget of information: there s even a videogame of this gem, and even if I never payed it personally the neat thing is that when you finish the game it auto deletes itself from your pc!!!

I would say absolutely after all grunge music is extremely influenced by philosophy and religion which in turn influences cyberpunk culture and aesthetic.
