    Pros:
    • Good layout, the three lane design works well for Kino and makes it easy for casual players to remember
    • Simple at its core, from turning on power to unlocking pack-a-punch
    • Dreery atmosphere, seeing the different rooms before teleporting back is unique and all the nazi imagery
    • Thundergun introduction, classic wonder weapon with one simple job
    • 115, one of the best songs we’ve had in zombies

    Cons:
    • Due to simplicity, playing for high rounds can become boring when played over and over
    • Few high round strategies, training on stage, alley, or fire trap room thus little variety for 3-4 player matches
    • Very little side content aside from 115 easter egg song
    • Nova crawlers, horrible boss zombie with boring mechanics
    • Introduces no new mechanics, basically a Der Riese 2.0 but worse

    Overall Rating: 6/10

Fuckin mid, just like your chicken Fring.

  4. Baco12sd

    I say about 6.5/10

very good simple map and decently easy high rounds.

But also extremely simple and doesn’t have that much going for it besides the high rounds, and nostalgia

It’s a 10/10 bare bones map. If I wanna play a bare bones map it’s a top choice. If I wanna play a zombies map with stuff to do I’m not gonna play it.

  6. Complex-Grade7020

I give it like a 6 outta 10. It’s fun to play every now and then, but i can’t play it more than a couple of times in a row without getting bored

  7. Quasar1007

A strong 8.5-9/10. Lower S-Class at best, High A-Class at worst.

It was my first ever zombie map and one of my favorites for the longest (It still is but back in the day of WoW and BO1, it was my 2nd favorite behind Ascension). As time went on and we got newer maps (Mob, Origins, Der Einsendrache, Gorod) it got pushed lower and lower. I haven’t played Zombies past BO4 but Kino has definitely stood the test of time for me and remains a Top 10 or at least Top 15.

    Nice setting and atmosphere

    Nice story behind it

Beginner Friendly yet still fun for more experienced players

    A definite 8.5-9/10 and strong A-Tier map.

  8. Sbee_Blue_Country

It’s a 10/10 for me. It’s not my most played, nor my favourite, but it’s still a 10.

I’d say my favourites are DE, Origins, Moon, Kino and either COTD, Shang, Town or Verruckt (it’s hard)

  9. kingeddy20

8.5 – It’s simple, fun, and nostalgic but isn’t as fun as it once was.

  10. NotNotLogical

It was a great, fun nostalgic map, but it doesn’t really hold up to maps made after it.

    4/10

  11. Pyrogenic_

This is a solid 5/10 for me. It’s really simple, but visually great. But that’s pretty much all it has going for it, imo. Not a spectacularly interesting map, but also a fun one to run when you are just trying to be basic.

  12. NIKEONX2

Well, it’s hard. Because I think everyone played so much of it that our opinion changed because of it.

Going back in time ? 10/10.
WaW final map was Der Riese and it was a banger. Now you are telling me the first free map of BO1 is a if not better Der Riese ?

Now after having played so much out of it through the years and having played all the other maps… it’s so bland and average. 5/10. Most of the time i can’t even bring myself to play it. I just ended my game on BO1 kino’s on round 40+ some hours ago. It’s just that there isn’t a lot to it. And it’s my personnal opinion but i really don’t like the Thunder gun. I used to love it but nowadays i dunno it feels so dull. I very much prefer the winter’s howl even if it sucks quick.

Now as a map compared to all the other ones released ?
3/10. But that’s not fair it’s like giving nacht a 1/10. You have to rate it either on your personnal opinion or by the time it released.

Map layout is decent, thunder gun cool, love the traps, but aside from that nova crawlers are ass and barely anything of content. 5.5/10 nostalgia is hell of a drug.

  14. Bubbly_Bubbles96

7/10, more fun with friends than anything. Competing for who gets the Thundergun, high rounds with your friends while all having Ray Guns.. it’s a nice feeling. That being said, I do not play it alone anymore.

Honestly the biggest advantage Kino has for a huge portion of the fanbase including me is the nostalgia factor. For a lot of us our first zombies experience was Kino and the fact that its a pretty good map overall with close to no downsides is also good. Only thing I dislike is nova crawlers but even then they’re no where near as bad as other zombie types (looking at you space monkeys). You can tell it was supposed to be a WAW map because of how close it is to Der Riese in gameplay and no new stuff other than the nova crawlers. Also whenever I want a fun and casual game of zombies without having to do a chore list or look up a guide on how to set up the map, I always go for Kino or Der Riese, so I would say both Kino and Der Riese tie at 9/10 for me.

  16. LevsRedfield

6/10 good for nostalgia, but get boring real quick.

  17. No_Square_8775

9/10 so many different strategy’s and places to train. Has great aesthetic, and brought us the thunder gun.

The best zombies map of all time: Kino der Toten, Black Ops 1.

To me, it’s as good as it gets. It was originally supposed to be in World at War but it was cut due to time constraints. Thankfully, Treyarch was able to finish it up, polish it up, and release it with Black Ops, cause it was good. Really good. So many iconic weapons. Layout was a perfect blend of simple and complex and the enemies were all unique and fun to fight. Plus, Kino had some of the best music in any COD Zombies map ever which made it even more addicting to play through and grind over and over. Call me old school, but I think Kino is the absolute best zombies map ever released and I could play it a million times without ever getting bored.
