On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Five?

    Pros:
    • Playing as presidents is exclusive to this map and adds to the interesting dialogue with many interesting quotes
    • Pentagon Thief is a unique boss that offers a risk vs. reward scenario
    • While the Eminem song was unexpected, it somehow fits well into the map
    • The Winter’s Howl is an interesting design for a weapon with a cool blast effect
    • Randomness of the teleporters adds to the chaos of the experience
    • Due to difficulty, really forces zombies players to step up their game and contributed to making players better

    Cons:
    • Winter’s Howl damage drops off significantly by the 30s until it simply tickles the zombies
    • The cramped space on the map doesn’t help for more than a couple players training, so 4 players makes it particularly difficult and requires top tier coordination
    • Hallway traps are poorly placed and make them much harder to use effectively
    • Going to PAP during a round can be quite difficult at later rounds due to defcom placements while managing the train
    • Never liked Nova crawlers, and them being in the tightest space on the map is simply annoying

    Overall Rating: 6.5/10

Like an 8 or something. It’s fast paced and fun to play. And killing the thief is rewarding every time. Whether it’s a fire sale or a bonfire sale, it’s very useful and makes the map just that much faster.

absolutely 10, I fucking love this map

  4. Otherwise-Routine-27

See I can do this in two ways. I could look at it objectively and look at the pros and cons and give it an objective rating, but I’m gonna be real honest with this map. There has been one moment after BO1’s life cycle where I went back to play Five. One. And I just don’t like it. Not because it’s too hard, but because I just don’t find it fun to play in any way. The layout sucks, the wonder weapon sucks, and although I can appreciate the fact they tried something different than dogs with the Pentagon Thief, he’s just really annoying. Even more so than the Ascension monkeys imo. The only thing this map has going for it are the characters. They are awesome. Personally, I would rate this map after its name, a 5/10.

8 imo, a good and fun challenge for those tired of easy maps like kino or DE, kinda like shang

    I’d give it a 3/10

    Pros

    Great unique cast of characters

Unique setting for a zombies map

The lifts are a unique form of movement in a map

Pentagon Thief is a unique enemy

Cool Pack-a-Punch method with it being a safe room

The easter egg song being Eminem is so weird I have to put it as a pro for the map

    Cons

Too cramped for most players to enjoy

The worst wonder weapon ever seen in zombies, yes, for me the Winter’s Howl is worse than the Jet Gun

A lot of the map is what i’d call wasted space namely the labs being a complete death sentence of tiny spaces and hundreds of zombie spawns to cut you off

    No one likes nova crawlers

High rounds are entirely based on using the electric traps which I personally dislike

    No easter egg quest

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that it’s called Five because a pentagon has five sides. Anyway, solid 7!

Cons: The biggest problem with the map is probably how painful it is to high round. We’re using BO1 guns, which usually don’t do a thing after round 20. The Winters Howl is I believe the worst wonder weapon statistically, dropping off around the round 25-30 mark, even if the gun is enjoyable to use (glad Classified did right by it). And the only traps in sight are in the most inconvenient spots I’ve seen. This goes both ways, and makes just casually playing Five to see how far you can make it really intense, in a good way. But when you’re trying to achieve that sweet round 100, all of this turns into sheer inconvenience. The map is also absolute chaos with 4 players, and that’s both a negative and a positive, as we’ll see with the pros section. Lastly, the random teleporters, while they add a good amount of tension and fun, are also just pretty annoying when you want to go somewhere specifically.

Pros: I think this was the moment when the Zombies team realized they could go all out with this mode, that the sky was the limit. Playing as JFK, Nixon, Castro, and McNamara in the pentagon killing zombies is one of the most out there concepts I’ve heard, and I’m *here* for it. I love the map’s progression visually. From the office floor, where everything’s rather clean and orderly. To the War Room, where things are getting a little more ominous. And to the lab, which looks like it came straight out of the Zombies maps we know and love. The Pentagon Thief is the ultimate risk/reward. He can’t kill you, but he can make you a hell of a lot more defenseless. Kill him before he catches you though, and the rare Bonfire Sale is yours. I love this man, and the fact that he was cut for Classified breaks my heart. The maps difficulty is lovely when just playing normally. Only one solid training spot around the War Room, and even that isn’t completely safe. Meanwhile, the rest of the map is close quarters all around. Makes it really hectic to play with friends/randoms, in a good way. And lastly, this map technically introduced buildables! How about that? Good on ya, Five. Innovating so Kino doesn’t have to.

Years ago, I would’ve put aside this map for being too much for me, while I’d boot up Kino for the hundreth time. Now though? I respect the hell out of Five, and consider Kino to be easily the weakest offering of BO1 (still good, though). Five’s great, glad I got over my skill issue

  9. 6, could’ve been a 8 if the wonder weapon wasnt the worst in the entire series.

Like a 6. Fun, but still just sandbox zombies. There’s nothing to do other than open the box and PAP then you’re done with the map. I personally can’t play maps that simple anymore, don’t find them as fun. But Five is one of the maps that I sometimes wanna hop onto for a challenge.

Also the Wonder Weapon isn’t fun to use so it doesn’t bring you back ever. 6 is fair, and it’s the 6th Zombies map ever. Lol
