Starting from scratch, what am I going to forget?

I am extending my current office by just a few feet, but I have the opportunity to make the space my own. As you can see the framing is pretty much done, moving onto electrical and wiring tomorrow. I really don’t want to forget anything, but I’m sure I will.

What are some things you overlooked in your builds or wish you would have done differently?

Add blocking between the studs for mounting points. Never once have I said I wish I had less electrical outlets in a room.

Rigid foam against the concrete/block. Fiberglass between the studs.

Insulation in the ceiling to help sound reduction.

    Outlets, outlets everywhere.

    Ethernet drops.

    HVAC

While you have open walls, think ’bout things like built in table top or inside wall wiring or wall mounted rack for monitors or shelves or whatnot, everything that may require special support or opposite, space to run. And ventilation.

Lighting, always a second thought for me that I regret later when I have used the space for a while
