This is not a post to complain. I genuinely want to get better and i feel like this clip highlights the the problems i go through the best, please tell me what i could have done better in this gunfight.

You have to abuse peaker’s advantage more. You had a disadvantage because said player was already pre-aimed or looking down this crate and you just walked out in ads, but jumping or sprinting out corners might really help you in situations like this. This is the reason sweats jump corners, otherwise it’s a battle of which gun and where you are shooting them

Sometimes you just meet someone who’s got a better shot it’s not that deep bro. Your shots were good his were just better

Shoot first die first. That’s sadly the game

Buy aimbot, even odds with opponent.
Otherwise you got cheated, welcome to call of duty thanks for paying the money stupid
Now enjoy getting aimbotted and wallhacked every game

In my experience, dropshotting at certain angles awards the enemy for having body level centering and aim. I still struggle with this but i try to think about the enemy would see from their perspective

In this example you didn’t particularly do anything “wrong”. Sometimes it happens, thats a fair assessment, and that’s enough for most players and that’s why most people don’t get better.
If you want to improve however, there are ways you could have played it better to decrease the odds of “it sometimes happening”.
9/10 times, gunfights are decided by the pre-fight checklist and less so the individual shooting time.
Here are the main things i noticed in no particular order which would have given you the upper hand from the get go.
* You strafed left. Your gun is on the right side, so the person strafing to the right gets a slight advantage in seeing the other person first. This means he has the advantage.
Solution: To counter this generally try peek by rotating right when possible.
* You ADS strafed. The ads strafe speed in this game is basically non existent. From their perspective you basically slow crawl around the corner and they have plenty of time to react and line up a shot before you can see them.
Solution: If you know someone is or might be around a corner jump strafe around the corner so that you gain peekers advantage (abusing low tickrate servers by moving fast enough so you can see around the corner and hit them before they can see you)
* You dropshotted. While this isn’t a slight against you, and dropshotting definitely has its place, at that range, if the person is centered properly on you dropshotting basically just gives them free headshots.
Solution: In midrange gunfights jumpshotting is almost always better than dropshotting since centre mass shots will hit legs instead of head, and your centre mass shots will be pushed into head. Dropshotting works really well up close since they can lose sight of you entirely.
The first two are far more important than the in fight movement. Getting first shots on target far outweighs any individual shot placement.
The ttk is very short, aim assist is strong, and the servers are dodgy. Getting into an even gunfight is always risky to an extent, no matter how good you are. The best way to play this game is to never get into an even gunfight.

It’s just the game man… I feel your pain.
