In the series I’ve played parts of the original on PS2, the demo for Big Red One on 360, MW1-3, and AW on 360, Black Ops 1 and 2 on PS3. Then I took a long break. I played Black Ops 3 via PS Now on PS4, Ghosts on Wii-U last summer, and just last week Infinite Warfare on PS4.
I played the first level and I am impressed at how they upped the graphics from Infinite Warfare although the art style is not as good and is purposefully drab. I enjoy the back to basics approach with the simplistic weapons and UI, although the quick time events with the tiny text and prompts really clashes with the rest of the game design. There’s also much carried over from Black Ops 1 where it feels too scripted and you’re hardly controlling anything, but I’ll take too easy over too hard any day.
I’ve also followed the journey of EARS (Electronic Arts Redwood Shores) as they became Visceral Games making Dead Space then Battlefield Hardline, and Glenn Schofield and Michael Condrey as they made MW3, then AW, then this. I don’t think they stuck around for Vanguard so I’ll probably save that one for last, but I’m enjoying the presentation here. This just felt like one that should be played on Xbox bringing back the memories of [WaW] with weapons like the M1 Garand and the MP40 even though this game is a different vibe and more cinematic. More Saving Private Ryan than Enemy at the Gates.
Because too many of the same games in a row can get boring, and my PS+ and XBLG ran out I’m going to skip to Black Ops Cold War afterwards maybe by renting it at the city library and getting a membership there if I can. Then I’ll do the Modern Warfare remake, possibly MWII, and only if I can and am not tired of the series Vanguard. For obvious reasons I have to skip Blops 4 although I’d love to play it. Maybe I’d consider getting it on PC for $3 but that’s not happening.
Anyways thank you for listening to my Call of Duty journey.

It’s a great game. You’ll enjoy it.
Best WWII campaign in my opinion. Just completed it on veteran mode a few weeks ago, yes I just got good enough to do it, it was definitely a challenge but it was fun to replay the game after 3 years since I had played it last.
I’ve played:
– Call of Duty 1
– Call of Duty 2
– Call of Duty MW
– Call of Duty MW II
– Call of Duty MW III
– Call of Duty World at War
– Call of Duty Black Ops
– Call of Duty Black Ops II
And WW II is the last nostalgic Call of Duty game. Not perfect but still very good. It’s kind of mixed all of them.
