Honest opinion… The only purpose they serve is to give you a slight bonus when being hunted… or other concepts that are similar. You have to know that they are in range when you use it, or else it’s pointless.
Kind of goofy, but I go out of my way to shoot them down when I see other people put them up, Regardless of whether they are used aga Sunday me or not.

To be fair when one is popped everyone in the area knows the exact position you popped it. I rarely bother with them.
