Skip the riser for the laptop, and go with long desk shelf that you can stand the monitor and the laptop on, that will give you some space underneath to put USB drives and other stuff, lets you slide things out of the way but still looks clean.

Since this looks like it’s all IKEA, you can get something like this
    shelf: [https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/bergshult-shelf-walnut-effect-00534168/](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/bergshult-shelf-walnut-effect-00534168/)

feet (could probably stain to match): [https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/eket-leg-wood-80474151/](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/eket-leg-wood-80474151/)

Personally, I would get one of those monitor arms that also have a laptop attachment. This will free up more space on the desk and actually make your laptop more usable. Whilst you’re probably planning on using the standalone keyboard, the attachment allows you to move it around so allows for more flexibility with viewing angles etc.

Why use a labtop and not a real pc? 🥺

Add a minimal monitor arm, and a proper mousepad that doesn’t just look good! Good luck and enjoy the process👍🏼

Maybe add some sort of riser between the countertop and ALEX untis, for a cleaner look and some extra space

Ditch the laptop as a screen, buy a second screen (Mount it of course) and have the laptop vertical, closed. My current laptop annoyingly has the power button on the keyboard, so it’s vertical open behind my secondary monitor.
