Lore related question: If Richtofen’s goal was to live on, why did post-revelations Richtofen let the events of BO4 happen? I suppose he read the Kronorium and knows about their fate in the end of TAG, so, why did he let Nikolai kill them all?

Because they fucked his character. It’s better to assume that he didn’t know what was going to happen in Tag because of the way they established him he would let multiverse suffer in order live on.

Cuz he knew his aetheral soul would live on.

He says it pretty clearly at some point: When he died (his doppleganger in The Giant), he felt nothing. When Dempsey died he felt something. When Takeo died he knew he had to save them.

He thought the bloodvials were the way but after Monty sent them back realized it wasnt. And with the cycle broken, he could come forward through time after the events and take control to pass it on to Nikolai, the most sympathetic one still with his soul at this point.

He understood that the only way to save them all was to end the cycle and he had to let someone who wasn’t him do it, otherwise his own self preservation would get in the way.

The Kronorium shows different people different things. Its very possible that he didn’t know what Nikolai would do, just that he would be the one to end the corruption throughout the multiverse
