I’m looking to improve (create) my work/casual gaming setup, I have a MacBook Pro for personal use and a Lenovo for work and some indie games, I also have a switch that I would like to connect, but I can’t find a good “budget” dock for having more ports and connect to the monitor with an easy switch of input source.
I’m really thinking of a second monitor, on top of the current one, is it really necessary?
I also have a Bluetooth speaker because the convenience of a speaker+mic while working but I still have the feeling that a wired solution should be better?
In general I’m having a little of a road block on how people unify the setup and not just have stuff working but feeling separate, idk if it’s just personal

Track your time. There’s a zillion good apps out there, at all price points. Pick one you like and start messing about with how you want to categorize your work. Learn what’s “normal” for you in terms of time spent on stuff like emails vs actual productive work. Learn the relationship between how much time your butt has to be in that seat to accomplish various projects and tasks by tracking the time you spend on key projects and project building blocks. This way you will know what you are saying YES or NO to. Watch trends and diagnose early when ur in a productivity slump and celebrate when ur on a hot streak. Use what you learn to tune your schedule so you make the most of your productive times and rhythms, and feel confident when you commit to work or turn it down.
Look at KVMs for ease of switching between devices
Do a kickflip brah.
Your monitor looks too low. Ergonomics are really important!
Sitting with a straight back and bent elbows, your forearms should be roughly parallel to the ground, angling slightly downward toward your keyboard (which should be flat, not raised on those kickstands). From *this* position, the top of your monitor should hit your eyebrows. Don’t look down, or lean forward, or hunch, just look straight ahead. Now put a monitor there.
For most people, this is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than a standard monitor stand height. Most people also have hella back, shoulder, neck, and arm pain from passively slouching and stooping.
