The game sold most because of its name. People loved the og mw2 ans they liked mw19 so thats why they baught mw2. It was nostalgia and marketing. What matters is the playercount which dropped from 111 million to 98 million from december 2022 till march 2023

Well, I can’t speak for everyone but I know several of my friends and I bought the premium edition because we believed that the game would have full 2 year support instead of the usual cycle.
