I got this at the end of 2021 and I repasted my 3090 Aorus Xtreme about 6 months ago. The GPU has been getting hotter and hotter and I kept having to turn the power limits down to keep it in check. I use my PC sparingly and I play a game where I’m limited by my 144hz 1440p monitor so the GPU isn’t being pushed to its limits. Tonight I took the card apart and found the Arctic MX-5 has the consistency of clay. Does this look like it came from a recall batch or was the MX-5 just not very good? I had great luck with MX-4 over the years so this is really frustrating.

Hello TooFast4Radar, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Bought the tube at the end of 2021. Reposted mu 3090 Aorus Xtreme in the fall of 2022 and the GPU kept getting hotter and hotter with my limited use. Today I took it apart again and found it has the consistency of clay. I never saw this with my years of using MX-4. Is this from the bad batch or was the MX-5 just not that good? It’s very disappointing.
