What’s the problem if there’s a sound in soundbank

  2. UlloDoggy

As if Atomic Heart is the first game to ever do this lmao

How did CoD players notice this, they don’t play single player games anymore.

What’s the other game you’re using as a reference?

honest question. if it’s the same gun, shouldn’t it sound the same or very similar?

  6. Fredbearthoughts

But it’s the same gun isn’t it gonna sound the same? Like even if they made the sound themselves wouldn’t also have a high chance of being similar

They most likely got it from the same audio library, doubt IW would waste there time making original Audio for all their guns when they can buy it from someone who already has it.

You would think the country this game came from would be able to record an AK.

Honest question tho guys: who the fuck cares?

Since there’s a lot of confusion here I think I have some authority to speak on that as someone has extracted and used the MW19 sounds for many mods for other games. Many of the sounds do infact come from an audio library. The ones that are “original” to the game are the firing sounds which use several layers of different effects.

The foley sounds are not original to MW19 and are licensed. This is obvious in part due to the metadata which lists separate info from many of the other sounds, and also that a co-author of mine identified the many sounds in several other games such as far cry and insurgency.

As an AK owner as well, part of what gives away the fact that IW didn’t record it themselves is that they used real guns to record the sounds and the sound in the video is not what an AK sounds like lol, but that’s sort of anecdotal

Very good hearing on the part of OP, but it’s simply not how game development works and the truth is that many assets that big studios use are from licensed libraries.

Wait until COD players realize that sound banks exist

You should compare the 2x samples in audacity and look at the waveforms to see if they overlap. Sounds very similar but the visuals would confirm it

  13. TrippySubie

Wouldnt doubt it that IW used a sound from a library.

  14. Berkut22

If they didn’t, they wasted a lot of time and money to record their own, because it sounds exactly the same to me.

I also saw a clip of atomic heart having the same music as the Ghostface music in Dead by Daylight, don’t know what to make of this.

What kind of degent roleplay as the Wagner PMC online💀

Not an expert on audio IP, but would that be a legal issue between companies?

  18. CHARLIE_3310

And also the Makarov shot sounds like M19

  19. Nice PR post from an account made exactly to promote atomic heart

Y’all are surprised when its a Russian studio who supports the Russian genocide of Ukrainians. Ain’t gonna buy their game.

  21. Paqaboll721

They also used the dead by daylight music. I swear, after the first boss, it plays.

  22. Krondon57

thought it was weird from the trailer but thought it was a placeholder????

Audio packs are a thing. Just like graphics packs. Game developers don’t sit there and create everything themselves all the time. You must be new to games. Just because they say they recorded a shit load of audio from “90 different mics” doesn’t mean they used exclusively that audio.

  24. cantpickaname8

Don’t these companies just use Sound libraries for alot of the basic audio like this? There’s a pretty solid chance that both used the same Sound Library as others have commented.
