They should find the info of customers and make them chip in for some of that too!

Sweet revenge, yet no one will cure that frustration from cheating assholes that took place then

They are just gonna run to the Bahamas and not pay the fine while continuing to make cheats.
The real solution to cheats is to have an AI-powered trigger system in place that detects cheating patterns and let a GM department patrol all the lobbies.
Make accounts tied to real ids such as passport, driver’s license, student id etc. to make sure cheaters don’t come back.
Infernaltank
Let’s bully them on twitter

Never heard of engineowning. $3 mil seems like a small fee. Are they’re other larger fish to go after?
lilbigchungus42069
aren’t they russian? or non-American at least
FatBoyStew
I mean they have 400,000 members on their forums. Most of their cheats are roughly 20 Euros a month. Lets just assume 10,000 of that 417,000 registered forum users buy 1 cheat for a year. That’s roughly $2,500,000 a year. They could likely just pay it to get past the headache and continue on making that kind of money a year. But I’ve got a feeling they’ll have a hard time getting them to pay up.

This is phase 2 of their anti cheat

Afaik EO is a located in germany, is there a way for US court to force this on a german company? I’m not really familiar with laws.

So activision gets a cool 3 mil, this company get to walk free with their profits and we get shafted, sounds like business as usual in this scam dressed up as a video game. Game is a ponzu scheme
ITinyGiant
As if this is going to change anything, they’re never going to get the money and the cheats will still be on the market. It’s Activision’s fault for having holes in their code that can be taken advantage of in the first place and not having an adequate anticheat.
big-jg
Oof
coding102
yet they sponsor cheaters
bugistuta
Unless there’s any real penalty for the cheat users then this will always be an issue.
dopef123
I imagine they made more than 3M so this is a waste.
Dunluce92
Now take that $3 million and give us all COD points for our trouble
Tuunsoffun
this is completely fucked up and protecting the capital interests of a billion dollar company. This should not be applauded
Picotrain1988
I feel like this is like an SEC fine… hey company doing wrong things making tones of money … we’re going to fine you a small percentage of that amount… see how that feels
Slurm818
Awesome. Get fucked buddy.
kooarbiter
imagine losing three million dollars for cheating in a video game
I LOVE THE 21ST CENTURY, I LOVE THE 21ST CENTURY

Throwing fresh water into the ocean. Activision literally still has cheaters playing right now. And they are even more blatant than the Verdansk era cheats.
