When I was a kid I dreamt of the world looking like this, and as I got older for some reason I didn’t lose the dream, I actually want to make it happen. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Absolutely. A world half open field and half hi-tech city existing in equilibrium.

Is this from tomorrowland?
plasmasun
It’s possible.
We have the capability and the technology. We have the ability to solve all of our problems now.
The only thing holding us back is our consciousness.
Some are not on that high of a developed level, consciously. They seem to be more interested in power, greed, and control. Following primitive urges. Who can be the top gorilla.

isn’t Tomorrowland ultimately a utopia?
certainly by design, or intent and ideologically—it’s meant as a utopia for futurists
if anything it’s a utopian science fiction… new wave science fiction. the 60s setting of modern time makes it a little atompunk i guess but the time travel, imaginary gadgets like rocket packs, etc make it kinda new wave sci-fi
how is it (or the topic) cyberpunk?

Don’t lise the dream.

I still have my optimist pin from the ARG.

Yeah, I think everyone likes the idea of a futuristic utopia. But I also think everyone who likes this page probably thinks a futuristic dystopia a la blade runner would be equally cool. The future is just cool either way

Mayhap the dream is a fragment from another life in an alternate reality that you have already lived?

Tomorrowland? Loved that movie glad someone remembers it

only with the balance of nature and tech can we obtain a future such as this. emphasis on the nature balance, as it’s currently out of whack.

Can’t say no to a beautiful field like that, spending time with close people there sounds great.. as long as there’s nothing that’ll bite off my leg

Would be great. In fact, we have the technology to produce food, shelter and clothes to basically everyone. We should be working less, and living more with the tech we currently have. Its a shame that our current economic system does not want us to live a utopia.

“Wwweeeeee’rrreeee off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz – in the Emerald City” vibes when I first glanced, just need a sliver of Yellow Brick Road (not Cyberpunk, sorry. I’m old)

To live in a solar punk society…

I’ve always wondered; if we’re all basically the same and want the same things (i.e. food, shelter, clothing, clean water, etc), then why can’t we just DO things? Like, why did we invent the imaginary restrictions of money? Why can’t we just be like “let’s do this cool thing because it’s cool and everybody will like/tolerate it”? It’s sad.

I want a world like Tomorrowland

This was the future that all the media and schools promised us. I want to see it at least once!

Tomorrowland is one of my favourite movies, I would also love to experience the Tomorrowland event
Saint_EDGEBOI
I *did”. I still find myself romanticising life in a futuristic society but have to remind myself that if it does happen, it won’t be the fun Tomorrowland or Meet the Robinson’s vibe, unfortunately something more like this…
Ironically, I still enjoy tech, I just think we need to be more aware of the damage that our advancements in tech can inflict and embrace more sustainable living.

This would be society if we all flossed before going to bed.

I’ll tell you this; where I live no one wants to support what they already have, and all these new iterations on the built environment are a shitshow of NIMBY people and Corporate Interest. You’ve shown me a “city on a hill” here and I’m *just not buying it*. There’s cool buildings, but if you want such a peaceful aesthetic I’d recommend King Charles Idyllic walkable village, not Cyberpunk.

Friends used to call me a realist utopist, as I’ve always been bothering them with meticulous society improvement what-if theories whilst being way too well aware of obstacles and each practical impossibility and also raising my legitimacy for wanting a better, different future in the name of us all.
Don’t know much what happens next anyway.

This will never happen as long as people dream of owning their own half acre. We need people to want to live in condos, it’s much more efficient to build high density infrastructure and housing.
We can’t romanticize living on the farm, we must encourage communal living. Then we can live in cool cities and maintain wilderness to visit on vacation.

Absolutely. My family used to have yearly vacations to Disney World.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make Tomorrowland and EPCOT a reality.

Thats not humans work, and every dictator has had the same belief that you do.
