Have any of you seen the film? It’s not an overly spectacular production, but it’s effectively the only title one can call ‘the live action Ghost in the Shell’. The film was shot entirely in Poland and orchestrated by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, known by anime fans mainly for their OST works for several titles like Cowboy Bepop, Vision of Escaflowne, Wolf’s Rain, Hellsing Ultimate, Full Metal Alchemist etc. and even games like Ace Combat 5.

Loved it.
Bought the soundtrack also.
Also look for his film, ‘Red Spectacles’.

I haven’t seen it in years. I remember it as being really great.

Is it any good? Never heard of it. Even if it sucks I still might if it has cyberpunk vibes.
I actually like the live action Ghost in the shell….and the anime is my favorite of all time

Thanks I’ll save this to check out l8r

It’s not nearly as memorable as GitS, but some good visuals. The Polish language and setting gives it a unique flavor among cyberpunk properties. Worth checking out.

I have a vague memory of having watched this. It didn’t leave any impression worth mentioning

Ive seen it. It’s a story about VR and reality. It’s not a GITS movie at all IMO.
It’s OK.

I saw this movie in a film study class back in high school. The teacher paused it on the scene with the giant tower and asked us all to try and describe the scene in a novel format as a way to showcase how different people can interpret a single frame.

I wouldn’t say it was a ghost in the shell adaptation. Some inspiration was drawn from GitS, for sure, but Avalon was it’s own thing.

A little too long for its content; would have made a great short film. Epic soundtrack, though.

I saw it on TV around early-to-mid ’00s, I thought it was good, don’t feel like going back to it though.
