Damn seeing the Yard not fragmented and full of lava feels weird, seeing these pics reminded of the experience i had going to the Titanic museum in Ireland where they had a 3D computer recreation of the ship and my Voyage knowledge let me know where i was going XD

Awesome! I was playing Blackout for the last few hours, it’s funny to see the similarities and the little changes with the reality (with bright colours)
They did an ok job of recreating it, still not totally game accurate but still cool that they made it

I visited alcatraz just before mob of the dead released. My friends had no clue how I knew my way around map first time playing it.
It’s still my favorite zombie map.

I remember seeing pics of alcatraz after playing motd for the first time and thinking how amazingly accurate it was. Treyarch put so much time into it. And the blood spawn being real too shows that just as much work went in

That building was always where my friends liked to go on Rebirth in WZ1, and I still think they hit their heads as kids for it
It’s honestly hard to believe Alcatraz exists. I knew about it before Mob even came out because I was super interested in its backstory and how fucked up the place really is.
I mean, you saw it with your own eyes, the cells barely even fit one person, it’s extremely uncomfortable to lift a finger inside one of these cells. Anyone with claustrophobia would not survive a day inside them. It is literally the closest thing to living in hell we have on earth. And the fact that every single escape attempt ended in a horrible way to die (drowning), it is safe to say that whoever designed the place REALLY wanted it to be an actual living hell.
Speaking of escape attempts, I wonder if the Anglins and Frank Morris really did pull off a successful escape attempt. Considering their bodies were never found dead or alive, I think it is not unlikely that they did in fact escape and at least lived a day somewhere on this earth.

How was it walking around this place for the first(?) time, but already being familiar with the place?
I remember visiting SF and this place in 2016 (all the way from Finland, first time in the US). While BOTD was not out yet, I still remember vividly how I was familiar with the place through MOTD. The views from the island back to the shore were really cool as well. I need to visit again..
