Had a thought the other day that all we are missing is a way for our minds to interface with and control machines like cybernetic limbs for the world (at least America) to be pretty close to a cyberpunk setting.
Most of the tech is there. The fashion is mostly there. The world is run by large corporations who don’t give a shit about the people under them. Government is a joke that can barely support the majority of its employees and programs let a nation.

It can’t hack a lot of modern networks. It takes advantage of a security flaw in 2.4 ghz wifi. Most modern systems are using 5 ghz. It gets faster speeds and is more secure.
